Ghanaian Highlife legend Rex Omar has thrown his support behind the ’24-hour Economy Policy’ proposed by National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Mahama.
He asserts that this initiative highlights Mahama’s modern and progressive vision, setting him apart from Vice President Bawumia, whom he describes as having an “old school” mindset despite being younger.
In a recent interview with Michachu TV, Rex Omar, a passionate supporter of the NDC, emphasized the benefits of operating facilities like clubs, casinos, and restaurants around the clock. He noted that countries such as South Africa, Switzerland, and the UK already enjoy the advantages of a 24-hour economy.
“Afternoon jams and all-day clubs are essential components of a vibrant 24-hour economy,” he commented. “John Mahama is attuned to current global trends, while Bawumia’s thinking remains outdated.”
Omar further explained that the policy isn’t just about daytime entertainment. It’s about providing everyone, especially night shift workers, with the opportunity to relax and access various services at any time.
“Implementing a 24-hour economy ensures that amenities are available to all, regardless of the hour,” he added.
