Bryan Wilson, an official at the British High Commission, has suggested that the Ghana Black Stars would significantly benefit from the inclusion of Premier League players Eddie Nketiah and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
According to Wilson, adding the duo would not only strengthen the squad but also provide crucial competition and depth, especially as Ghana navigates the demanding road to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. With several Black Stars players competing at the highest level in Europe, injuries and fatigue remain a realistic concern.
“Their addition can only make the team stronger — it brings competition and real depth,” Wilson noted. “With the Premier League’s demands and the long road to the World Cup, injuries can happen. If Semenyo or Kudus are unavailable, options are needed.”
Both Nketiah and Hudson-Odoi are England-born players of Ghanaian descent who have previously been linked with potential switches of international allegiance. Their possible inclusion has sparked renewed debate among fans and analysts, many of whom believe their experience in top-flight English football could elevate Ghana’s attacking options.
As Ghana intensifies preparations for upcoming qualifiers and tournament appearances, calls for strategic squad expansion continue to grow. The Ghana Football Association is yet to officially comment on the matter, but public discussion around dual-nationality players remains firmly in the spotlight.
