The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has strongly denounced alleged acts of sexual exploitation involving a Russian national, describing the development as deeply disturbing and unacceptable.

Government Takes Firm Stance
In a statement, the Ministry reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of sexual abuse, exploitation, and human rights violations, especially those affecting vulnerable persons. Officials emphasized that Ghana will not serve as a safe haven for individuals who engage in exploitative conduct.
The Ministry assured the public that it is collaborating with relevant security and investigative bodies to ensure a thorough probe into the matter.
Protection of Vulnerable Persons Prioritized
Authorities stressed that safeguarding women, children, and other vulnerable groups remains a top national priority. The Ministry indicated that appropriate legal and social interventions will be activated to support any victims identified in the ongoing investigations.
Security Agencies Engaged
The Ministry confirmed that it is working closely with the Ghana Police Service and other state institutions to ensure that anyone found culpable faces the full rigours of the law.
Government officials have urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with authorities by providing credible information that could assist investigations.
Call for Collective Responsibility
The Ministry further called on communities to report suspicious activities and to actively support national efforts aimed at eliminating exploitation and abuse. It reiterated Ghana’s commitment to upholding human dignity, child protection laws, and international human rights standards.
Investigations remain ongoing, and further updates are expected as authorities continue their work.
