Parliament Passes 24-Hour Economy Authority Bill: The “Three Shifts” Era Begins

In a historic move on February 6, 2026, Ghana’s Parliament passed the 24-Hour Economy Authority Bill, marking a new era of industrial and economic transformation. The newly established Authority will coordinate with all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to enhance production, reduce youth unemployment, and turn Ghana into a 24/7 industrial hub. Key sectors, including manufacturing, logistics, and creative industries, are expected to adopt “three-shift” operations, boosting output and creating thousands of jobs nationwide.
