Hollard Ghana has announced the passing of its Group Chief Executive Officer, Patience Enyonam Akyianu, who died on Sunday, 20 September 2026.
The company announced the news in a media statement issued in Accra on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, expressing profound sorrow over the loss of its Group CEO.
Patience Akyianu joined Hollard Ghana in October 2018 and became the company’s first Group CEO. According to Hollard Ghana, she played a significant role in establishing a purpose-led foundation for the organisation and guiding its transformation.
The company credited her leadership with helping make insurance more accessible to thousands of people across Ghana, while describing her legacy as extending beyond business growth to the culture of care, courage and kindness she fostered within the organisation and its communities.
Hollard Ghana said she would be remembered by the company and the wider insurance industry for her commitment to employees, customers and the organisation’s purpose of enabling more people to create and secure a better future.
The company extended its condolences to her husband, Kwame Akyianu Esquire, her children, Awurama and Nana Banyin, and her wider family and loved ones.
