BREAKING: Trump Links Greenland Ambitions to Nobel Peace Prize Snub in Letter to Norway

U.S. President Donald Trump claims failure to receive Nobel Peace Prize justifies Greenland focus

U.S. President Donald J. Trump has reportedly sent a letter to Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre linking his perceived failure to receive the Nobel Peace Prize to a renewed U.S. focus on Greenland. The letter, confirmed by Støre’s office, has sparked international debate and raised tensions with NATO allies.

BREAKING: Trump Links Greenland Ambitions to Nobel Peace Prize Snub in Letter to Norway 10

In the letter, Trump wrote that Norway’s decision not to award him the Nobel Peace Prize for “having stopped 8 Wars PLUS” freed him from thinking “purely of Peace,” allowing him to prioritize “what is good and proper for the United States of America.” He further argued that Denmark cannot protect Greenland from Russia or China and questioned Denmark’s sovereignty over the territory, stating, “There are no written documents, it’s only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also.”

Trump emphasized his contributions to NATO, claiming he had “done more for NATO than any other person since its founding,” and suggested that NATO should reciprocate by supporting U.S. strategic interests, particularly regarding Greenland. He concluded with a provocative statement: “The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland.”

Norway’s Response

Prime Minister Støre confirmed receipt of the letter, emphasizing that Norway does not control Nobel Peace Prize decisions—the Nobel Committee operates independently. He urged de-escalation of any rhetoric that could destabilize international relations. Denmark and other NATO allies have rejected Trump’s claims, reaffirming Greenland’s sovereignty under Danish governance.

Global Reactions

The letter has triggered concerns among European nations and NATO members about U.S. intentions in the Arctic region. Analysts note that Greenland’s strategic location makes it central to Arctic security, particularly in the context of Russian and Chinese activities. The letter has also sparked debate over the intersection of personal grievances and national security decisions.

Confederation of African Football (CAF) Suspends Senegal Coach Pape Thiaw After AFCON Final Controversy 15

Thiaw was found to have breached CAF competition regulations after ordering his players off the pitch in protest against a controversial refereeing decision late in the game, which led to a temporary halt of play. Although Senegal ultimately returned to complete the match and won 1‑0 after extra time, CAF deemed the coach’s actions unacceptable and damaging to the image of African football.

In its statement, CAF confirmed that Thiaw will be suspended from all CAF competitions and fined under its disciplinary code. The length of the ban means Senegal could be without their head coach for upcoming continental fixtures, forcing the Senegalese Football Federation to consider interim leadership options.

The controversial finale also sparked widespread debate across the continent about officiating standards and sporting conduct, with CAF stressing its commitment to respect for match officials.

“First of all, I would like to thank the Senegalese people. It wasn’t easy, but we did it together. I’m so happy,” Mané said.

In a statement that has sparked widespread discussion, the former Liverpool forward suggested that his chapter with the Africa Cup of Nations may have come to an end.

“As I’ve already said, for me, with the Africa Cup of Nations, it’s over.”

Penalty Controversy Addressed

Mané also addressed the controversial penalty awarded during the match, a moment that nearly altered the outcome of the final.

“Regarding the penalty, I don’t think it was a penalty. But if the referee decides it’s a penalty, there’s no problem.”

His calm and respectful response has earned praise from fans and pundits, highlighting his maturity and sportsmanship in high-pressure situations.

Leadership Behind Senegal Staying on the Pitch

One of the most critical revelations from Mané’s comments was his role in convincing the Senegal team to continue the match amid rising tension.

Sadio Mani took an advice from Claude

According to Mané, emotions were running high, and many players wanted to leave the pitch. He sought advice from respected African football figures Claude Le Roy and El Hadji Diouf, both of whom urged him to keep the team focused.

“Everyone wanted to leave. I asked Claude Le Roy for his opinion, and he told me we had to play. El Hadji Diouf told me the same thing.”

Mané then took responsibility as captain, rallying his teammates to push forward regardless of the outcome.

“I told the guys: whatever happens, we have to take responsibility. We’re going to play.”

A Captain’s Legacy
