The ongoing discussion about the factors leading to the decline of the Ghanaian movie industry remains a hot topic.
In a recent interview, renowned actress Portia Asare suggested that the industry’s collapse was partly due to some individuals allegedly using juju (black magic) against their colleagues who were perceived to be more successful.
However, during a segment on UTV’s United Showbiz on Saturday, August 11, 2024, prominent movie director and producer Ola Michael challenged these claims. He asserted that while various issues contributed to the downfall of the industry, the idea that juju was a significant factor is far from accurate.
Ola Michael pointed out that there are multiple reasons for the industry’s challenges, and the claim that actors were using black magic to sabotage one another is not among the most plausible explanations.
