The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is set to reverse its decision regarding Ghana’s eligibility to host Category C matches.
This comes after CAF withdrew approval for Baba Yara Stadium, leaving the country without a suitable venue for international matches.
Due to this setback, Ghana was forced to look for alternative venues outside the country, such as Togo, for the October AFCON qualifier against Sudan. However, Togo declined Ghana’s request to use the Kégué Stadium.
In response, CAF inspectors visited Accra and Cape Coast Stadia following a request from the Ministry of Sports.
If either stadium meets the required standards, Ghana may be granted temporary approval to host the October AFCON qualifiers on home soil.
