Asamoah Gyan has postponed the All Regional Games, originally set for this year, to 2025. Launched in July 2024 to discover sporting talent in Ghana, trials had already begun for athletes aged 18 to 23. Gyan stated that the delay would allow for a “bigger and more impactful event.”
Details on the new date will be announced soon, with each region responsible for selecting their top athletes across nine sports disciplines. Gyan reassured registered athletes that their data is secure and they will have priority for the 2025 event, while new athletes will also be welcomed through rigorous trials.
Initially aligned with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as chairman of their Youth and Sports sub-committee, Gyan later renounced his membership to focus on humanitarian efforts, stating he had not “been fair to the youth and the people of Ghana.”
