Ghana’s captaincy reshuffle for upcoming AFCON qualifiers
Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has reassigned the team captaincy, placing the armband with Leicester City forward Jordan Ayew for Ghana’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
This change comes after Mohammed Kudus led the team in previous games, standing in for absent Thomas Partey.
With Partey still sidelined, Addo chose Ayew to lead, citing his extensive experience as essential for the must-win matches against Angola and Niger.
Ghana faces a challenging road, needing victories in both upcoming games to have any hope of advancing to the AFCON.
Many fans believe Ayew’s leadership and track record in past qualifiers could be crucial in inspiring the team through these final group-stage battles.
