Ghanaian musician Amerado has electrified the music scene with his latest release, a freestyle track titled “Point 5.”
After spending most of 2023 and the early part of 2024 releasing numerous tracks that showcased his singing abilities, Amerado announced his return to rap with this diss track on Friday, June 14, 2024.
Fans will remember his exploration of a different musical path with songs like “Kwaku Ananse,” “Abronoma,” and “Tin Ton Tan,” which highlighted his vocal skills.
While these tracks brought him a new audience and significant commercial success, they also drew criticism from some quarters, particularly from fellow rappers and fans who believed he had drifted too far from his rap roots.
In “Point 5,” Amerado directly addresses these critics with hard-hitting bars and an aggressive delivery, aiming at those who celebrated his supposed departure from rap.
He also sheds light on his temporary shift to singing, explaining that it was financially motivated. “I went out there to do some singing despite being a rapper because it was paying well,” he reveals in “Point 5.”
The release of “Point 5” has already sparked significant discussions across social media and within the Ghanaian music community.
Fans are excited to see Amerado back in his element, delivering the fiery, unapologetic rap that first brought him fame.
