Former Ghanaian boxer Bukom Banku shared insights into his life principles during an appearance on Showbiz 360, emphasizing his lifelong abstinence from smoking and alcohol.
Reflecting on his past, he admitted to having been confrontational and prone to fighting those who disrespected him in his Bukom community but noted that he has since repented from such behavior.
The 46-year-old comedian credited his adherence to Muslim traditions as the reason for his abstention from alcohol and smoking, stating, “In my life, I have never smoked or drank alcohol because I am Muslim.”
Bukom Banku also denied ever seeking spiritual support, such as juju, to achieve fame, attributing his success solely to divine influence. He confidently stated, “Nobody can do juju for me in this nation. Who says they’ve done juju for me to support my career? Never in my life. It’s God. If you go for juju and you die, your children will face the consequences, and it will affect their future. Anybody who claims to have given me juju should come out and say it. My superstar status is real.”
Additionally, Bukom Banku offered advice to his son, urging him to stay focused on his career and avoid distractions from women. He extended this advice to young people in general, encouraging them to concentrate on achieving success, which he believes will naturally attract attention from women.
