Ghana Ready To Continue World Cup Journey

Confidence continues to grow inside the Ghana camp following a spirited performance against England. With qualification still within reach, Semenyo insists the Black Stars are fully focused on extending their stay at the tournament and giving Ghanaian supporters another memorable World Cup campaign.

“Last time we didn’t get out of the group and it was a huge disappointment, but this time, if we can get through, then who knows what will happen. We are here to win, we want to make the Ghana fans happy and the longer we are in the tournament the bigger the party will be!”

Semenyo Pays Tribute To Luka Modrić

Standing between Ghana and the knockout rounds is Croatia, led by legendary captain Luka Modrić, who continues to perform at the highest level despite celebrating his 40th birthday. Semenyo admitted he has always admired the Croatian playmaker and is excited by the opportunity to face him on football’s biggest stage.

“Everyone thought the last World Cup would be his last, the same as Messi and Ronaldo but they all are back again. Modric is still playing at the top level so not really surprised. It will be great to share the pitch with a great player like him.”

The Ghana international added that although he grew up idolising Didier Drogba, Modrić’s technical brilliance, passing ability and football intelligence make him one of the greatest midfielders of this generation.

“He plays a very different position to me but he’s been one of the best midfielders of the current era. You learn something from every player. I grew up watching Didier Drogba which taught me a lot, but Modric is so good to watch, a great passer of the ball, technically outstanding and incredible reading of the game.”

Premier League Rivals Become World Cup Opponents

The Manchester City forward will also come face-to-face with familiar Premier League opponents Joško Gvardiol and Mateo Kovačić. While friendships exist away from the pitch, Semenyo says Ghana’s only focus is securing the victory needed to progress.

“Like the England guys, I’m sure there will be some messages in the build up. It will be great to see them and I hope we can get the better of them but they’re two great players who won’t make it easy for us.”

Ahmad Tea Ambassador Eyes Historic Run

Semenyo, recently unveiled as Global Brand Ambassador for Ahmad Tea, believes Ghana possess the quality and belief to make a deep run in the tournament. After frustrating England and earning worldwide praise, the Black Stars now have the opportunity to prove themselves again against one of international football’s most respected nations. For Semenyo, the mission remains simple: keep Ghana winning, keep supporters believing and keep the celebration alive.
