Ghana’s senior football team, the Black Stars, is set to kick off their initial training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 2, 2024, as they prepare for their 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Angola.
Black Stars Coach Otto Addo announced his 23-man squad yesterday, selecting the team for the crucial doubleheader against Angola and Niger. The players are expected to start arriving on Saturday, August 31, 2024, with the full squad anticipated to report to camp by Monday.
Following their training in Accra, the team will head to Kumasi on Tuesday to ramp up their preparations for the match against Angola, scheduled for Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Ghana’s Black Stars are determined to make a strong start against the Angolan Antelopes, with additional fixtures against group rivals Niger and Sudan, as they aim to secure their 25th appearance at the continental tournament in Morocco next year.
Notably, one of Ghana’s star players, Dede Ayew, did not receive a call-up for this squad, adding a surprising twist to the lineup as the team focuses on securing their qualification.
