The closed-door discussions, held yesterday, focused on deepening cooperation across key strategic sectors aimed at advancing Ghana’s national development and strengthening mutual ties between the two nations.

Among the key outcomes of the meeting are major commitments including the retooling of the Ghana Armed Forces, expected to begin this year, and enhanced maritime collaboration to bolster Ghana’s coastal security and safeguard its blue economy.

France also pledged to unlock funds for the construction of seven hospitals across Ghana, as part of a renewed focus on improving healthcare infrastructure. Both leaders discussed expanding digital and artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives for the youth, ensuring Ghana’s young innovators benefit from France’s advanced technology ecosystem.

In the agricultural sector, new agribusiness partnerships are expected to be formed to enhance food production, processing, and export capacity. The two presidents also agreed to advance strategic counterterrorism cooperation, reinforcing Ghana’s stability and regional security efforts within the West African subregion.

Significantly, the talks emphasized a joint commitment to defending multilateralism, highlighting both nations’ shared belief in international cooperation as a cornerstone for global peace and sustainable development.

At the conclusion of the talks, President Macron extended a formal invitation to President Mahama to pay a full State Visit to France early next year, signaling the beginning of a new phase of strong and purposeful Ghana–France relations.

Both leaders expressed optimism that the renewed partnership will yield tangible benefits for citizens of both nations in the areas of defense, health, education, and innovation.

A few years ago, Joseph “Jojo” Wollacott stood tall as Ghana’s favorite goalkeeper — the safe pair of hands who gave fans hope and confidence in the Black Stars’ post. His heroics during the 2021 AFCON qualifiers and early World Cup campaigns made him a national sensation and a trusted figure between the sticks.

However, as football’s unpredictable tides often prove, time and circumstances have seen Wollacott drift from the limelight. Once celebrated as Ghana’s first-choice keeper, he now finds himself away from the loud applause and global headlines. Injuries, competition, and club transitions have played their part in slowing his rise.

Currently, Wollacott plies his trade with Crawley Town Football Club in England’s League Two, a humble setting compared to the grand stages he once graced. Yet, for true football lovers, this is not the end of his story — only a new chapter.

Known for his resilience, discipline, and humility, Jojo remains committed to regaining top form. Fans across Ghana and beyond still hold deep affection for him, hoping he will rise again, both for club and country.

Football careers often swing between fame and silence, but class and hard work never fade. Ghana still remembers, and Ghana still believes.

China Mall in Santasi Completely Burns Into Ashes

Kumasi, Ashanti Region — October 30, 2025:

A massive blaze has completely destroyed the popular China City Mall located at the Santasi Roundabout in Kumasi, reducing the multi-million-cedi structure to ashes. The fire, which began late Thursday afternoon, sent panic across the area as thick smoke covered parts of the Kumasi skyline.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire started around 4 p.m. from the rear end of the building before spreading rapidly across the shopping center. The mall, known for its diverse range of Chinese and Ghanaian goods, was fully engulfed within minutes. Traders and customers rushed to safety, leaving behind valuable stock and personal belongings.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) arrived promptly but struggled to contain the flames due to the intensity and scale of the inferno. Eyewitnesses described the scene as “terrifying,” noting that despite frantic efforts, most items inside the mall were unsalvageable.

Miraculously, no deaths or injuries were recorded, though property worth several millions of cedis has been lost. Fire officers battled the blaze for hours, finally bringing it under control in the evening. The building’s metal structure later collapsed, confirming total destruction.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with early reports suggesting a possible electrical fault or overheating from an air-conditioning unit. However, officials have yet to release a definitive cause pending a full GNFS report.

The Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive and several officials from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) visited the site to assess the damage and console affected traders. The incident has sparked renewed calls for stricter fire-safety measures in Ghana’s commercial facilities, as similar disasters continue to devastate businesses nationwide.

Opened earlier this year, China City Mall had quickly become one of Kumasi’s busiest shopping destinations, employing dozens and attracting thousands of daily shoppers. Its destruction is expected to affect both local businesses and the broader trading economy of the Ashanti Region.

Authorities have urged the public to remain calm while investigations continue. Meanwhile, cleanup operations are underway, and NADMO has promised to assist affected workers and traders in the coming days.

In a recent interview, Mzbel alleged that Charlotte Oduro’s public criticism of her son’s lifestyle and upbringing deeply affected the young boy, who has since struggled with confidence and mental well-being. The singer, known for her outspoken nature, revealed that she is considering taking legal or social action to hold the counsellor accountable for what she described as “public bullying under the disguise of moral guidance.”

Mzbel emphasized that as a mother, she has always done her best to raise her child responsibly and that no one has the right to judge or attack him publicly. “What Charlotte Oduro said years ago might have sounded like advice to her, but to a child, it was damaging. My son has suffered silently, and now I have to stand up for him,” she stated.

The video of Mzbel’s emotional statement has gone viral, sparking widespread conversation on social media about the line between public commentary and personal attack — especially when it involves minors. Many fans and celebrities have sympathized with Mzbel, urging respect and sensitivity when discussing children of public figures.

As of now, Counsellor Charlotte Oduro has not officially responded to the claims.

In a candid revelation, 39Forty recounted how one of his closest friends betrayed his trust by secretly sleeping with his girlfriend—the same woman he once considered his greatest love.

“I’ve always had a soft heart,” he began. “From 2021 to 2024, I’ve only dated three ladies. It’s hard for anyone to confidently say, ‘this is my girlfriend,’ when it comes to me—most of what people hear are just rumours.”

According to him, the painful betrayal came from someone he trusted the most. His friend, who pretended to support his relationship, was secretly involved with his girlfriend. The emotional blow became unbearable when the same friend later confessed and even sent him pictures as proof.

“That day, I had my first real heartbreak,” 39Forty revealed. “Later, she called to apologise, saying she didn’t know what had gone on between them. I just told her, ‘Am I a kid?’ After that, I never called her again, even though deep down, I still liked her very much.”

He also shockingly disclosed that the lady in question was the one who broke his virginity—on Monday, 22nd August 2019, at exactly 3:25 a.m.

The confession has since sparked widespread conversation on social media, with many fans commending 39Forty for his honesty and emotional maturity in handling such a painful experience.
