Debate Erupts Over Calls for Arrest of Ebo Noah as “Ark Vision” Sparks Public Outrage

A heated debate has erupted on the Ghana Media Facebook page over whether controversial religious figure Ebo Noah should be arrested by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) following widespread public concern over his recent statements and actions.

The controversy stems from Ebo Noah’s public clarification where he stated:

“I never claimed it was a prophecy, only a personal vision to build an ark. Ghana, forgive me—it didn’t rain, and the ark I built was too small.”

While some followers view the statement as an honest admission, many Ghanaians believe the explanation raises more serious questions—especially regarding funds allegedly collected from members of the public who believed the ark project had divine backing.

Social media reactions have been intense, with critics accusing Ebo Noah of deception, spiritual manipulation, and abuse of religious trust. Supporters, however, argue that a “vision” does not necessarily amount to criminal intent and that faith-based projects often rely on voluntary belief.

Prominent writer and media figure Daniel Jeddman weighed into the debate, issuing a strong warning that has further fueled public discussion. According to Jeddman, Ebo Noah must return any funds acquired through misleading claims, stressing that failure to do so could have serious consequences.

“If people were deceived into giving money under false spiritual pretenses, then restitution is not optional—it is necessary. Otherwise, trouble will follow him in life,” Jeddman stated.

Legal analysts and commentators on Ghana Media note that the key issue for law enforcement is intent and evidence. If investigations establish that donations were collected under false representations of divine prophecy, the matter could shift from moral controversy to criminal liability.

Others have urged the Ghana Police Service to tread carefully, warning against criminalizing religious expression without clear proof of fraud. They emphasize that Ghana’s constitution protects freedom of religion, but not financial exploitation.

As of now, the Ghana Police Service has not issued an official statement, but pressure continues to mount for the IGP to clarify whether an investigation will be launched.

The debate highlights a broader national conversation about accountability among religious leaders, transparency in faith-based fundraising, and the responsibility that comes with spiritual influence in Ghana.

Ghana Media will continue to monitor developments and provide verified updates as the situation unfolds.

The Cyber Security Authority of Ghana, in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service, National Security, and the Ghana Immigration Service Headquarters, has carried out a major early-morning operation targeting organised cybercrime networks operating within the country.

The intelligence-driven raid was conducted across two key locations—Tabora and Lashibi—as part of ongoing national efforts to clamp down on cyber-enabled financial crimes. In Tabora, 100 suspects were arrested, while 41 suspects were apprehended in Lashibi, bringing the total number of arrests to 141.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects are believed to be Nigerian nationals allegedly involved in a range of cybercrime activities. During the operation, law enforcement officers recovered 38 laptops and 150 mobile phones, all suspected to have been used in perpetrating online fraud schemes.

In a significant development, authorities also arrested a Ghanaian landlord who provided accommodation for 100 of the suspects. Security officials emphasized that landlords have a legal and civic responsibility to ensure their properties are not used to facilitate criminal activities.

According to investigators, the suspects are linked to several cyber-related crimes, including Mobile Money (MoMo) fraud, romance scams, sextortion, Business Email Compromise (BEC), and wire fraud. These crimes have caused substantial financial losses to victims both locally and internationally.

Forensic examinations of the seized electronic devices are currently underway. Officials say individuals found to be culpable will be processed and prosecuted in line with Ghanaian law.

The Cyber Security Authority has urged the public to remain vigilant, promptly report suspicious digital activities, and continue supporting national initiatives aimed at combating cybercrime. Authorities reiterated that while Ghana remains welcoming to foreigners engaged in legitimate business, anyone involved in cybercrime will be decisively dealt with according to the law.

The Member of Parliament for Asunafo North, Haruna Mohammed, has publicly called on Ebo Noah to appear before Parliament to answer questions relating to issues of public concern. According to the MP, such an appearance is necessary to uphold transparency, accountability, and the integrity of Ghana’s democratic institutions.

Speaking on the matter, Haruna Mohammed stressed that Parliament has a constitutional duty to exercise oversight over issues that directly or indirectly affect the public interest. He noted that when concerns arise involving individuals whose actions or decisions have generated public debate, Parliament must not shy away from seeking clarity.

“Ghanaians deserve clear answers,” the MP stated. “If there are questions that continue to linger in the public domain, the appropriate platform to address them is Parliament. An appearance before the House will help clear doubts and strengthen public trust.”

Haruna Mohammed emphasized that his call should not be misconstrued as a presumption of guilt, but rather as a standard democratic process aimed at fact-finding. He explained that parliamentary questioning provides an opportunity for all sides to be heard and for the truth to be established on record.

The MP further argued that accountability is a cornerstone of good governance and applies equally to public officials and individuals whose activities intersect with national interest. He added that voluntary cooperation with Parliament would demonstrate respect for democratic processes and the rule of law.

Political observers say the call reflects growing insistence by lawmakers on openness and responsiveness, especially at a time when public confidence in institutions remains a sensitive issue. They note that parliamentary invitations or summonses are not uncommon and are often used to clarify controversies, review decisions, or assess compliance with regulations.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from Ebo Noah regarding the call to appear before Parliament. However, analysts believe that honoring such a request could help calm speculation and provide much-needed clarity on the issues being raised.

The matter is expected to generate further debate in political circles, with many Ghanaians watching closely to see how it unfolds and whether Parliament will formally act on the MP’s call.

Ghanaian authorities have issued a strong warning regarding a doomsday prophecy attributed to self-styled prophet Ebo Noah. According to officials, should the prophecy fail to materialize after the stated date, he may face arrest on grounds of causing fear and panic among the public.

Officials further explained that under existing regulations governing religious and prophetic declarations, any prophecy with potential national security, social stability, or public safety implications must be formally submitted to the Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations for review and authorization.

As of now, Ebo Noah has not publicly confirmed whether he sought the required authorization. Authorities say they are monitoring the situation closely and will act in accordance with the law.

Ghana’s gold sector has recorded a historic financial milestone, with the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), working in partnership with the Bank of Ghana, generating over US$8 billion in revenue between January and September 2025. The announcement has sparked widespread attention across economic and political circles, highlighting the growing strength of Ghana’s gold-backed economic strategy.

The achievement was brought to public attention by Sammy Gyamfi, who praised the figures as clear evidence of effective coordination between state institutions and a renewed focus on maximizing value from Ghana’s natural resources. According to him, the performance of GoldBod demonstrates that structured oversight, transparency, and strategic partnerships can significantly boost national revenue.

Over the past year, the Ghana Gold Board has intensified efforts to streamline gold aggregation, reduce smuggling, and ensure that more gold transactions pass through official channels. This approach, backed by the Bank of Ghana’s financial controls and gold reserve policies, has helped stabilize inflows and strengthen foreign exchange reserves.

Economic analysts say the US$8 billion revenue figure is not just a number but a signal of renewed confidence in Ghana’s extractive governance. Gold remains Ghana’s leading export commodity, and improved regulation has positioned it as a powerful tool for economic stabilization, especially amid global currency pressures.

The partnership has also reportedly contributed to stabilizing the cedi, supporting import cover, and reinforcing Ghana’s balance of payments. Stakeholders believe that if the current momentum is sustained, Ghana could close 2025 with one of its strongest gold-sector performances in history.

Public reactions have largely been positive, with many Ghanaians commending the leadership behind the initiative while calling for accountability, reinvestment into social development, and continued transparency. The success has reignited discussions on how natural resource revenues can directly impact jobs, infrastructure, and national development.

As Ghana looks ahead, the Gold Board–Bank of Ghana collaboration is increasingly being viewed as a model for how resource-driven economies can harness value responsibly and strategically for long-term national benefit.

According to sources close to the project, Alves is particularly interested in discovering raw, high-potential players who can be developed and exposed to the international football market. Football academies, local leagues, and grassroots tournaments in both countries are expected to receive heightened attention during the scouting mission. Industry insiders say the visit could open doors for young African players who lack visibility but possess exceptional skill and discipline.

Sports analysts believe Dani Alves’ interest further confirms Africa’s growing importance in global football development. His vast experience, winning multiple league titles and international trophies, is expected to add credibility and attract global attention to any selected talents.

If confirmed, the visit could also strengthen football ties between Africa and South America while providing opportunities for local coaches, scouts, and academies to collaborate with an international football icon.

Freezy MacBones Alleges Referee Bias Over Language Use in Bout

0

Boxer Freezy MacBones has raised concerns over what he describes as biased officiating during his recent bout, accusing the referee and judges of favoring his opponent, Jonathan Tetteh “Worldwide.” According to MacBones, the alleged bias stemmed from ethnic and language considerations during the fight.

MacBones claimed that the referee and judges were from the Ga ethnic group and suggested this influenced their decisions. He further alleged that communication inside the ring was conducted predominantly in the Ga language, which he does not understand, placing him at a disadvantage during critical moments of the contest.

The boxer stated that while his opponent, Worldwide, understands and speaks Ga, he does not, and as a result, instructions and warnings from the referee were unclear to him. MacBones also alleged that shortly before points were deducted from him, the referee made a statement in Ga, which he could not comprehend.

These allegations have sparked debate among boxing fans and observers, with calls for clarity on officiating standards, especially regarding language use in the ring. As of now, no official response has been issued by the referee, judges, or the Ghana Boxing Authority regarding the claims.

The situation adds to ongoing discussions about fairness, transparency, and communication in professional boxing, particularly in multicultural settings where language differences may arise.

Prophetic Outlook: Ghana Must Prepare for Regional Shifts From 2026

From 2026, Nigeria and Sudan are expected to experience a strong wave of crises that could significantly affect regional stability. According to a prophetic outlook shared by Daniel Jeddman, Ghana will become a major destination for settlement, investment, and relocation, particularly for wealthy individuals from Nigeria.

While this development is not necessarily negative, it comes with serious economic implications. The anticipated influx of people is likely to increase pressure on housing, social services, and the cost of living, with inflation projected to rise sharply if proactive measures are not taken.

Politically, Ghana may face heightened tension between the NPP and NDC during this period. However, the message emphasizes that peace will prevail. It states that God will use President John Dramani Mahama as an instrument of unity and stability to maintain calm across the nation.

The prophecy further indicates that Michael Okudjeto will play a key role in settling major foreign-related matters, helping Ghana navigate international and regional challenges effectively.

From 2026 onward, Ghana is also expected to witness a rise in job opportunities across various sectors. However, a strong warning is issued to the youth. Without readiness, skill development, and discipline, many of these opportunities could be taken over by foreigners.

The message serves as a call for national preparedness, vigilance, and strategic planning to ensure Ghanaians benefit from the changes ahead.

Empathy Beyond Appearances: A Lesson Ghanaians Must Remember

0

By Ghana Media

A few years ago, a popular sports presenter on Ghanaian television caught the attention of viewers for an unexpected reason. He had become noticeably slim. Like many others, people assumed it was a deliberate lifestyle choice—fitness, rebranding, or personal discipline. It later emerged that the broadcaster was battling an incurable illness. Though he bravely returned to television on another platform, he sadly passed away not long after.

Empathy Beyond Appearances: A Lesson Ghanaians Must Remember 24

That painful memory has resurfaced following the recent public reactions to gospel singer Florence Obinim’s weight loss. Social media commentary has been unforgiving, with some accusing her of undergoing cosmetic surgery—claims she has repeatedly and firmly denied.

What many fail to realize is that weight loss is not always cosmetic or intentional. It can be linked to serious health challenges, emotional trauma, stress, or private battles people choose not to disclose. Public figures, despite their visibility, are human beings who also suffer—often in silence.

Turning someone’s physical appearance into mockery or viral jokes reflects a troubling lack of empathy. Today it may be a singer, tomorrow it could be a colleague, a friend, or a family member. The sports presenter’s story serves as a sobering reminder that behind the smiles and screens, some people are fighting battles far beyond public imagination.

In a society quick to judge and slow to understand, a little compassion can make a powerful difference. Not everything should become content. Not every change deserves commentary. Sometimes, silence, kindness, and empathy are the most humane responses.
