Ghana’s run as the second placed nation in Group I standings of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers didn’t last long with the Black Stars slipping to third place.
This comes in the wake of Comoros losing 2-1 to Madagascar earlier today; Comoros led the Group standings in the lead up to the game based on having a superior goal difference over Ghana.
However, the loss of Comoros have slipped to second place forcing Ghana into third place on the table. Madagascar is now on the first on table.

All three nations have secured six points from winning two games in three outings with Ghana beating Mali and Madagascar while losing 1-0 to Comoros.
Madagascar has a goal difference of +3 with second ranked Comoros having a goal difference of +2 and Ghana ranking third with a goal difference of +1.
Ghana is scheduled to play against Central African Republic (CAR) on Monday, June 10 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi next.
Black Stars celebrate win over Mali in Bamako
The Black Stars are attempting to qualify to the FIFA World Cup for the fifth time.
A phenomenal performance to talk about all day! Even though Mali had a clear home advantage, the odds were stacked against them. The Blackstars of Ghana led by Otto Addo played strategic and defensive to pull out the win.
With senior players such as Thomas Partey, Kudus Mohammed, Jordan Ayew and others, Ghana triumphed to becoming the favorite team of that night.
Jordan Ayew in the dieing moments of the game pulled out the winning goal, putting Ghana far ahead of Mali in Bamako.
Tariq Lamptey was tipped as the man of the match by many Ghanaians.

Netherlands based Ghanaian Man, Mr Happiness, revealed in a video why he will not apologise for comparing his Dutch passport to a PHD. certificate in Ghana. He revealed he intends to apologise but until “Dumsor” is over in Ghana. In the video, he sipped a glass of beer and said, “There’s no dumsor in Holland.”
In a recent interview on GhPage’s “Rash Hour” show, actress Fella Makafui provided insight into the current status of her daughter, Baby Island, following her tumultuous divorce from rapper Medikal.
Speaking with host Rashad, Fella disclosed that Baby Island is now solely under her care.
Fella Makafui reassured fans and followers that Island is thriving and has not been adversely affected by the divorce.
“Island is doing very well,” she said, emphasizing that the separation from Medikal has not impacted their daughter’s well-being.
Fella also highlighted the financial security they have ensured for Island.
“Island will be financially okay for the rest of her life because Medikal and I have made several investments for her,”.
She stated, indicating that despite their personal differences, both parents are committed to their daughter’s future.
During an interview with Nana Romeo of Accra Fm, Oliver The Boy who was tipped to be the New Artist of the year somehow slipped the award to King Paluta who many also believed deserved.

Oliver further explained he was very happy for his colleague King Paluta as they’re all trying to project Ghana globally. He even added he loves the ending part of Paluta’s song Aseda. “The ending part kills me”….he said.

It’s obvious to say Afronita is such a special aspirant ready to take on the world to another new level. She’s pushing every limitation to become one of the most influential young women in the world today!
Simon after the performance of Afronita and Abigail publicly admitted how he was so touched to know despite the inability of Abigail to hear properly, Afronita always seemed to find a way to get along with her. And it’s obvious they’re best of friends now.
It’s so lovable to also see how Afronita smiles so flawlessly. Her smile hs obviously affected Abigail too. They’re so beautiful to see together. Afronita and Abigail came up on 3rd position in the 2024 edition of British Got Talent Show. Ghana is proud of them! So is Africa, so is the world.

Black Stars of Ghana forward Inaki Williams officially married his longtime girlfriend, Patricia Morales, in a joyful event that took place in Bilbao, Spain.
The couple’s special occasion started with a lovely ceremony at the beautiful Basilica of Bego on Saturday (today).
This was followed by a lavish reception at the renowned Palacio de San Miguel in Sodupe.
The reception venue is a popular choice among fellow footballers, and it is expected to be a glamorous event with many notable guests in attendance.
Majority of the Athletic Bilbao team was present to celebrate with their teammate, with the exception of Sim and Vivian who could not make it as they were called up for international duty with Spain.
As an important member of the Bilbao squad, Williams was surrounded by his friends and teammates as he exchanged vows with his beloved partner.
It was a heartwarming moment to witness. Additionally, Williams’ younger brother, Nico Williams, was given permission to leave the Spanish national team camp to attend the wedding.
The ceremony was a private and intimate affair, with only close friends and family present to share in the couple’s special day.
It was a beautiful celebration of love, and we wish Inaki and Patricia a lifetime of happiness together.
Williams will not be part of the Black Stars of Ghana team that will confronts Mali and Central Africa Republic on 2026 World Cup Match Day 3 and 4 due to Injury.

Famous actor, Lil Win known in real life as Kwadwo Nkansah has been arrested by the Ghana police moments after he was discharged from the Okomfo Anokye teaching hospital over an accident that led to the death of a 3 year old boy and left the boy’s father with several injuries.
On the day of the accident which was May 17th there wasn’t enough information about as earlier reports were just that he had been involved in an accident but days later it emerged that, there were other victims in the accident and that, it was all because the actor who had a major movie premiere that day was allegedly overspeeding.
When pictures from the funeral of the 3 year old boy who lost his life emerged on Social media and more details became available, there were calls by people on Social media to the Ghana police to arrest him and an investigation opened, and if found guilty be made to face the law.
The police has explained that, they hadn’t arrested him immediately because of his condition and that they wanted him to be discharged and in the video circulating on Social media, the actor was arrested right when he was discharged the police whisked him away in their car.

The 25th edition of the Ghana Music Awards now known as the Telecel Ghana Music Awards is over and there were lots of big wins and surprises on the night and Ghbase.com.gh shares with you the full list of winners.
The 25th edition of the music awards ceremony was hosted by the famous Chris Attoh and Naa Ashorkor.
For us, the biggest highlight on the night was seeing King Promise pick up his first TGMA award since he started singing and he bagged home 3 awards on the night
The night witnessed electric performances from musicians like Kuami Eugene, King Promise, Stonebwoy, Amerado, Mr.Drew, Amakye Dede, Efya, Nacee.
We also saw Stonebwoy pick up Songwriter of the year for the first time making him also the only dancehall artist to have ever won that category, and I think it’s worth discussing.
He also went ahead to win the most coveted award on the night, which is the artiste of the year.
King Paluta was crowned the new artiste of the year on the night and it’s well deserved.
