He claimed they used a portion of a song for which he owns the copyright without seeking his permission.

Kwame explained that the beginning of Team Eternity’s song “Defe Defe” includes a segment from a song originally written by Osuani Afrifa, which was performed by Halleluyah Voices.

He mentioned that he purchased the rights to this song and has all the necessary documentation to prove it.

However, Kwame clarified that Osuani Afrifa, as the composer, retains the intellectual property rights. He stressed that Team Eternity should have contacted him before using the segment.

As fellow Christians, he hopes they will do the right thing. He added that he won’t be too harsh if they rectify the situation.

Kwame Mickey also complimented Team Eternity’s song, acknowledging its quality.

Appietus recognizes Reggie Rockstone as the originator of Hiplife

0

Veteran music producer Appietus has acknowledged Reggie Rockstone’s crucial role in the creation and popularization of Hiplife, a genre that merges Ghanaian highlife music with hip-hop influences.

In a recent interview on Channel One TV discussing “Ghana’s Musical Identity,” Appietus emphasized that Reggie Rockstone deserves recognition for his pioneering efforts in the early 1990s.

According to Appietus, Rockstone’s vision and innovation laid the groundwork for a new wave of Ghanaian music that has become a staple in the country’s entertainment industry.

While Reggie Rockstone has long asserted that he originated Hiplife, several key figures who have significantly contributed to the genre’s growth have disputed this claim.

Reggie Rockstone is undeniably the originator of Hiplife,” Appietus stated. “He brought a unique fusion of highlife and hip-hop that resonated with the youth and created a whole new musical movement. Without Reggie’s groundbreaking work, Hiplife as we know it today wouldn’t exist.”

Mahama pledges to lower Hajj costs for Muslims

0

John Dramani Mahama, the flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has vowed to reduce the cost of Hajj if he is elected President in the 2024 general elections.

Mahama highlighted that the current Hajj fare, set at GH¢75,000, is excessively high, making it difficult for many ordinary Muslims to afford the pilgrimage to Mecca.

During Eid prayers with the Ahlussuna Wal-Jamah Muslim group at the forecourt of the State House in Accra on Sunday, Mahama addressed the issue.

Our pilgrims are in Mecca performing the Hajj. May Allah bring them safely home to us. Those who have been able to go are the privileged ones because we have had fares at GH¢75,000,” Mahama said. “It is very difficult for the ordinary Muslim to perform the Hajj but Insha Allah, if we win in this election and come into government, we are going to work to reduce the Hajj fare so that everybody can go.”

Muslims worldwide celebrated the festival of Eid Adha on Sunday, honoring the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim and his unwavering faith.

Agradaa: As For Me, I Don’t Want To Be Decent Because People Who Are Decent Are Broke And Hungry

0

Ghanaian fetish priest turned Evangelist, Nana Agradaa aka Evangelist Tupac has caused a stir on social media.

The self-acclaimed woman of God claims thinking of being decent will be the last thing she does on earth.

It all started when Evangelist Tupac, as usual, went to Facebook live to engage with her fans and loved ones and for other reasons best known to her.

As she was on Facebook Live talking, one of her followers, a female took to the comment section of her live post to fire shots at her.

The follower said that all the women who are from Kwahu, where Nana Agradaa comes from are very decent except the now woman of God.

Even though the follower did not buttress her assertion, it is obvious she based on the way Evangelist Tupac behaves on social media to say that.

Replying to the lady, Nana Agradaa blocked the follower after which she fired shots at her, calling her all sorts of bad names.

Having a PhD and not making money is bogus – Ras Kuuku enlightens

Reggae and Dancehall artiste Ras Kuuku has shared his point of view in the ongoing debate between a Dutch Passport and a PhD certificate.

The multiple award winning artist stated that he would at any day and at any time go for a Dutch passport because he doesn’t know what a PhD is and what it even entails.

He explained that, unlike the Dutch Passport, it provides opportunities for the holder to make more money and live a better and more comfortable life.

He said: “If I am asked to choose between the two, I’ll go for a Dutch passport because what will I be doing with a PhD? What’s even in that PhD, and I want to know what that PhD involves and entails.”
