Afua Asantewaa to attempt sing-a-thon record again – see why

0

Ghanaian singer Afua Asantewaa, who previously aimed for the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon, has announced her intention to make another attempt.

Reflecting on her previous unsuccessful attempt, Asantewaa revealed during an interview with GhOne TV that she has been contemplating this second effort for some time and is now resolved to try again.

“I have been reflecting a lot, and I believe that the record attempts I undertook are similar to the Black Stars participating in a World Cup or a presidential candidate running for office. I have seen presidential candidates who have not won but continue to try. So, if I attempted the world record and was not successful, it doesn’t mean I should give up,” she explained.

Asantewaa shared that her team only had two weeks to prepare for their initial attempt in December 2023. With several months ahead to properly prepare for this new attempt, she is confident about achieving success this time and bringing honour to Ghana.

“I believe that a lot has been learned. We only had two weeks to prepare for our attempt last year. Now, we have several months ahead to prepare properly, achieve success, and continue to make Ghana proud. Even if we fail, let’s still put Ghana on the map,” she added.

A Ghanaian woman’s two-month-old marriage is teetering on the edge of collapse due to disputes over the quantity of food she consumes at home.

The woman, who remains unidentified, revealed that her husband is threatening to end their marriage because he can no longer tolerate her eating habits, which he claims are depleting his limited resources.

Since their marriage began, her husband has frequently complained about how much she eats, labeling her a “foodie.” He even went as far as reporting the issue to her family and some community elders, seeking their advice on how to curb her food intake.

In an interview with Auntie Naa on Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, the woman shared her distressing experience.

She explained that due to her husband’s constant complaints, she has cut down her meals from three times a day to just two—morning and evening. Despite this effort to accommodate her husband’s concerns, he continues to complain, which is causing her significant distress.

The woman mentioned that she met her husband through one of her brothers, and despite her attempts to resolve the issue, her husband’s dissatisfaction persists, disrupting her peace of mind.

Hajia4Real snitches on popular GH boy who introduced her to internet fr@ud

0

Hajia4Real recently appeared in court, where she pleaded for a three-month jail sentence and subsequent deportation to Ghana. During her testimony, she identified Loveman Allison as the individual who allegedly introduced her to internet fraud.

According to her account, she met Loveman Allison in 2015, and he guided her into the world of internet fraud and romance scams. Hajia4Real’s lawyer emphasized that she was innocent and unaware of internet fraud prior to meeting Allison.

Loveman Allison, who is Hajia4Real’s baby daddy, dated her from 2015 to 2019. He is expected to appear in court soon to respond to the accusations leveled against him by Hajia4Real.

Background

From approximately 2013 to 2019, Hajia4Real was reportedly involved in a criminal enterprise (the “Enterprise”) based in West Africa that executed a series of frauds targeting individuals and businesses in the United States.

These scams often involved romance frauds that preyed on vulnerable, older individuals who lived alone.

The Enterprise would deceive victims through emails, text messages, and social media, convincing them they were in romantic relationships with personas created by the fraudsters.

Once the victims were emotionally invested and trusted the supposed romantic partners, they were manipulated into transferring money to bank accounts controlled by members of the Enterprise, under the belief that they were helping their romantic partners.

As the legal proceedings unfold, Loveman Allison will have the opportunity to address the serious allegations made by Hajia4Real regarding his role in introducing her to these fraudulent activities.

Avram Ben Moshe and Prophet Ogyaba fight dirty (video)

Avram Ben Moshe and Prophet Ogyaba’s initially light-hearted online banter has escalated into a serious conflict.

A few weeks ago, Prophet Ogyaba threatened to make Avram Ben Moshe lose his sense of reasoning on June 21, 2024. Avram, undeterred by the threat, accepted the challenge and vowed to visit Ogyaba’s church on the specified date to confront the prophet’s alleged spiritual powers.

However, just days before the planned confrontation, Prophet Ogyaba backtracked, stating he would no longer make Avram lose touch with reality. Despite this, Avram remains determined to visit Ogyaba’s church as originally planned.

Feeling threatened, Prophet Ogyaba has informed the police, requesting them to arrest Avram if he shows up at the church on June 21. This police involvement has further inflamed the situation, prompting Avram to retaliate with harsh words.

During a heated exchange on Kingdom FM, Avram Ben Moshe angrily labeled Prophet Ogyaba a thief, a fool, and a trickster, escalating the verbal feud between the two figures.

Ghanaians now need a free electronic travel authorization to visit Kenya

0

As of June 19, 2024, Ghanaian travelers can now obtain an electronic travel authorization (ETA) to visit Kenya at no cost, as announced by Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.

Ghanaians must apply for this authorization through etakenya.go.ke prior to departure.

This move comes in light of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s earlier declaration to abolish visa requirements for all African travelers to Ghana by the end of 2024, a significant policy change he aims to implement before leaving office on January 7, 2025.

For years, the African Union (AU) has championed visa-free travel among member states, but progress has been limited, with many nations only establishing regional and bilateral visa-free agreements.

According to the African Development Bank’s Africa Visa Openness Index, only 28% of intra-Africa travel is currently visa-free. Presently, Rwanda, Benin, Seychelles, and The Gambia are the only countries offering visa-free travel to all Africans.

Kenya, which proclaimed a visa-free regime for Africans last November, has faced backlash over its new procedure requiring travelers to obtain an ETA 72 hours before travel and pay a $30 administration fee.

For decades, Ghana and Kenya have enjoyed a reciprocal visa-free agreement, allowing citizens to travel without visas or permits. However, since January 2024, this arrangement has changed with Kenya’s introduction of the so-called ‘visa-free’ entry policy for all foreigners, now mandating the free ETA for Ghanaian travelers.

“I’m not broke and I don’t care” – Michael Essien

0

A close friend of football star Michael Essien has clarified rumors about his financial status, stating that Essien is not bankrupt, contrary to media speculation.

In a conversation with Saddick Adams, the friend explained that the former Black Stars player prefers not to address the issue of his auctioned houses publicly.

The properties in question, located on Stephen Quarshie Crescent in East Legon and in Trassaco, are no longer Essien’s concern.

The friend elaborated that Essien had entered a mortgage agreement with the estate developers but later deemed the high monthly mortgage payments unreasonable.

Consequently, he chose to default on the payments, resulting in the properties being auctioned to recoup the developers’ investments.

Despite the auction of these houses, Essien remains financially secure, owning several other high-value properties in London, Spain, and Ghana.

Reverend Kwaku Agyei Antwi, widely known as Rev. Obofour and the leader of Anointed Palace Chapel (APC) worldwide, has issued a caution to Christians about placing their trust entirely in clergymen.

Rev. Obofour emphasized that nearly every clergyman has flaws and advised against blind trust in them.

He highlighted various moral failings among pastors, including involvement in adultery leading to divorce and engaging in fornication, with some even participating in sexual affairs with multiple partners simultaneously.

Rev. Obofour believes that these failings underscore a lack of genuine men of God in Ghana and urged people to place their trust in God instead of fallible human leaders.
