Sister Derby: I recount how Medikal cheated on me with Fella Makafui and several women

0

Sister Derby has finally revealed the circumstances surrounding her split from Medikal to famed blogger Zionfelix during a recent interview.

The two have been garnering attention lately since they reconciled and performed together at the Planning and Plotting concert headlined by Medikal at London’s 02 Indigo, which was a sold-out event.

The former lovebirds teamed up to sing their 2016 smash song, Too Risky.

Since then, rumours have been flying from different angles indicating they are back together.

Following intensified rumours that Medikal and Fella have divorced, the speculations shrouding MDK and Derby’s comeback have also picked up.

After the show, though, Derby spoke up about the painful details of her previous relationship with the former TGMA Rapper of the Year.

She said that although she respected Medikal’s privacy and allowed him freedom, she gave him too much space, which he exploited by cheating on her with other women, including Fella Makafui whom he later married.

Before this interview, the African Mermaid, as Derby affectionately calls herself, told YouTuber Kwadwo Sheldon that men starting the rumours about her supposed rekindled relationship with Medikal are the same people chasing her in her DM with love proposals.

Derby disclosed on social media that those who are circulating these rumours personally approached her intending to pursue a romantic relationship.

She made it clear that she and Medikal are only friends and are not romantically involved, despite the rumours.

She believes that people are simply stirring up trouble, pointing out that they have performed together after their breakup and even released a song together.

“It wasn’t to cause anything. It was basically to support my friend Slash my sweet ex. I wanted to come and support and also he invited me and I couldn’t say no.

The boys who think that way want to date me that is why they create these stories about me. What they forget is that we performed at Sowutuom after our breakup,” she said.

Fella Makafui and Medikal allegedly reunites after dramatic separation

0

A video on the social media site X alleges that Ghanaian musician Medikal and his wife Fella Makafui have reunited after a few weeks of separation.

In the video shared on Twitter now called X, the couple was spotted holding each other at the airport after the arrival of the artist.

Fella Makafui was heard telling her team she would be sitting in a Range Rover with her husband.

The recent breakup of Ghanaian rapper Medikal and actress Fella Makafui sparked a social media frenzy, with many shocked by the end of this power couple’s romance.

It all started when the rapper responded to a fan’s post by publicly announcing that he and Fella Makafui were no longer together, explaining that she is now his babymama.

Speculation developed that the rapper’s activities were only a publicity gimmick for his planned 02 stadium project, but he debunked this impression by releasing a photo of himself covering up the tattoo of his ex-wife Fella Makafui’s name he had on his arm, emphasizing the gravity of their split.

During a 3 Music media interview, Medikal confirmed the clarity of their divorce, professing affection and respect for his ex-wife despite their split.

A few weeks ago, Medikal further clashed with the television host of United Showbiz, MzGee after she questioned him about his wife’s absence at his show in the US.

Medikal felt uncomfortable as Mzgee urged him to clarify his position on his marital status.

She also asked about the promotion for Fella’s most recent film release, something Fella had brought up during her visit on the show.

Annoyed by the line of questions, Medikal vented his annoyance to Mzgee, asking why she was not concentrating on the show’s success and instead raising unrelated queries that would cast doubt on its achievements.

But today, many people are asking if the separation was a ruse. It has yet to be determined whether the video in circulation is recent footage of the two.

Lil Win gives new information concerning his legal scuffle with Martha Ankomah

0

Lilwin has discussed the lawsuit filed against him by fellow actor Martha Ankomah for allegedly defaming her character in a viral video that circulated a few months back.

During a media appearance to promote his new movie A Country Called Ghana, Hitz FM DJ Andy Dosty prompted Lilwin to share his thoughts on the matter.

Lilwin expressed surprise at Martha’s decision to take legal action against him, mentioning that he has faced insults from colleagues and industry insiders in the past but never resorted to lawsuits.

“I am against negativity, it forms part of the reason we don’t thrive in the industry. I could have also sued many people who insult and say false things about me, but I won’t reply.”

What did Lilwin do to Martha Ankomah?

Lilwin posted a video of himself insulting Martha Ankomah. His irritation stemmed from what he perceived to be Martha’s disparaging remarks regarding Kumawood films.

Martha Ankomah allegedly turned down a Kumawood project offer, claiming that they don’t make any sensible movies and that their productions are of low quality.

Lilwin, often labelled as the face of Kumawood, therefore dragged Martha by using derogatory and obscene language at her for the comments she made.

He thought Martha Ankomah might have simply declined to be part of the movie by demanding a huge charging fee that would have prevented the producer from featuring her rather than resorting to derogatory comments.

Lilwin continued to slam the actress, saying she was no longer relevant and was merely making these remarks to maintain her fame.

He pointed out to her that A-list actresses like Yvonne Nelson and Van Vicker had once worked in Kumawood, and that Martha was nothing in comparison.

Martha Ankomah not willing for out-of-court settlement

Martha Ankomah on the other hand said in a separate interview that she won;t allow Lilwi not go scot-free for insulting her without any provocation.

She made her first public comments on the subject in an exclusive interview with UTV, saying the video containing the attacks on her person has affected her.

Martha then declared that she was pursuing justice to make Lilwin answerable for his deeds since she firmly believed in the rule of law.

The actress underlined that the court should deal with Lilwin’s insulting words to set an example for others because they are seen as role models by children and adults alike.

Martha explained that she had never before interacted with Lilwin or worked with him, so she was even more confused by his sudden attack.

She claimed that since it took her a long time to build and protect her brand, she won’t allow Lilwin to discredit her by drawing her into a controversy.

She strongly declared that she would make sure Lilwin suffered the repercussions of his conduct when asked about settling the case out of court if he begged for forgiveness.

Ali Bongo on hunger strike over family torture and humiliation

0

Gabon’s deposed president Ali Bongo and two of his sons, Jalil and Bilan, have gone on hunger strike, alleging family members suffered torture in detention in the central African country, according to his lawyers.

Bongo was ousted in a military coup last August following a disputed election and has since been confined to his home in Libreville with his sons. His wife, Sylvia, and eldest son, Noureddin, are imprisoned, facing corruption charges.

Lawyers claim Noureddin was “repeatedly tortured, beaten with a hammer and crowbar, strangled, whipped, and electrocuted with a Taser,” and Sylvia was also beaten and forced to witness Noureddin’s torture. Gabonese authorities have not responded to these allegations.

King Paluta advises fans not to haul him into Sarkodie’s ‘Brag’ feud

0

King Paluta has made it clear in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM that he has no plans to take part in the current diss songs being released by different musicians, particularly after Sarkodie released his Brag song.

King Paluta clarified that he has no plans of jumping on the bandwagon because all he has done lately is sing.

He stressed that he has solidified his brand and broke into mainstream relevance since he began to sing as part of his craft.

The Kumasi-based rapper stated that he is not worried about the feud despite being tagged on social media by his fans.

Paluta says he is focused on his career and wants to improve even more on his singing since he made the switch.

Following the controversy created by Sarkodie’s Brag song Dremo and Oluwadollarz from Nigeria have dropped diss songs aimed at Sarkodie.

On the other hand, Lyrical Joe and CJ Biggerman from Ghana responded by releasing their own versions shoving Dremo and other artistes from Nigeria off.

Regardless, Paluta believes it’s unnecessary to join the feud, as he is more interested in promoting his new music and maintaining his mainstream presence.

What did Sarkodie say in his Brag song?

In the song, Sarkodie highlighted his background and abilities, emphasizing that he had been in the game before the emergence of artists like Asake and Black Sherif as well as ‘old gees’ Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy.

He mentioned that despite the influence of the aforementioned, he maintains that his achievements are unparalleled.

Sarkodie took it a step further by asserting that Kendrick & Cole are his real competitors, showcasing his unwavering commitment to continuously grow and succeed in his musical journey.

“Before Wizkid came I was already doing it. Davido started when I was improving it.

Then Odogwu came through, Blacksherif to Asake, yet I’m still going. My biggest competition is Kendrick & Cole,” Sarkodie said in his song.

What problem is Ghana facing now?

0

Following the macroeconomic crises experienced in 2022, Ghana witnessed some improvements in its economic conditions throughout 2023. However, persistent challenges remain, notably characterized by elevated inflation, subdued growth, and substantial pressure on public finances and debt sustainability.

The country encountered significant external shocks that exacerbated existing fiscal and debt vulnerabilities, resulting in a constrained access to international markets, limited domestic financing options, and an increased reliance on monetary measures to support government expenditures.

Ghana is in debt distress and public debt is unsustainable. In response, the Government has embarked on a comprehensive debt restructuring, a significant fiscal consolidation program, and the implementation of reforms to foster economic stability and resilience. The authorities’ stabilization efforts are being supported by an Extended Credit Facility (ECF) program of the IMF for approximately $3 billion.

The crisis has taken a toll on the pace of economic growth – which decelerated to an estimated 2.9% in 2023 and is projected to remain weak in 2024. Returning growth to its potential rate of 5% will require macroeconomic stability. Over the longer term, structural reforms aimed at promoting private sector development and increasing FDI attractiveness are necessary to raise country’s growth potential. Critical reforms include strengthening the insolvency regime, access to finance, the energy sector, and the legal and regulatory environment faced by foreign direct investors. Accelerating digitalization and harnessing the opportunities offered by the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA) through integration with global value chains will also be important in this regard.

Fiscal consolidation is broadly on track with estimated deficit of 4.6% of GDP at the end of 2023, significantly lower than the 10.7% deficit in 2022. At 15.7 % of GDP in 2023, revenues and grants reached the same level as 2022 despite lower oil revenues.

Year-on-year inflation fell from 53.4% in January 2023 to 23.2% in December 2023, reflecting more stable exchange rates and the effects of monetary policy tightening in 2022-23. Over the first months of 2024, the deceleration of inflation has stalled due to pass-through of the depreciation on prices of imported goods, on non-food inflation while food inflation marginally fell.

The immediate implications of the macroeconomic crises and debt distress in the country are worsening the poverty levels and living standards of the population. The “international poverty” rate is estimated at 31.4% in 2023, a worsening of 4 percentage points since 2022.

First stare-down between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul was full of smiles

0

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul had their first public staredown today and it seemed to be a light hearted atmosphere with both laughing.

Even though the first stare-down seemed to have been full of smiles, the fight day will be quite a different story!

Mike promised us the old Mike, that he’s taking this seriously and that he will finish Paul. But the old Mike wasn’t doing staredowns smiling, laughing and playing around. When Mike did a staredown it was a part of his game meant to intimidate you. He looked through you. That part of his game terrified opponents. And now he’s laughing and playing.

We obviously were never going to see a prime Mike Tyson, his prime was over 30 years ago. But I’m not even sure we’re getting a version of Mike on the same frame of mind of when he was the baddest man on the planet.
