Nigerian music video director confront Shatta Wale owing him money (video)

0

Renowned Nigerian filmmaker and music video director Sir Choppenson has publicly accused dancehall star Shatta Wale of failing to pay for multiple completed video projects.

In a social media post, Sir Choppenson disclosed that he was hired to produce numerous videos for Shatta Wale, including the recent release ‘Killa Ji Mi’, filmed in Tamale.

Despite delivering over 13 videos, one of which gained international recognition and led to a collaboration with Beyoncé, Sir Choppenson claims he has not been fully compensated.

He stated that while the agreed amount for recent projects was under $5,000, Shatta Wale initially promised $15,000, which remains unpaid.

Ghanaian Dancer, Champion Rolie shows affectionate love to street children in Accra

0

Talented Ghanaian dancer Roland Frimpong Nyarko, popularly known as ‘Champion Rolie,’ has demonstrated deep compassion for street children in Accra by donating clothes and providing meals for hundreds of kids.

Founded in December 2023, the Champion Rolie Foundation has been actively involved in various outreach activities to support the well-being of street children. These activities include feeding programs and free medical screenings.

At its third outreach session, held at Kotobabi Wembley Park in Accra, hundreds of children enjoyed fun activities, plentiful food, and drinks. The event, dubbed “Clothe-A-Child; Change a Life,” saw children receiving stationery and clothing. They participated in dance competitions. Winners of these competitions received special packages from the Champion Rolie Foundation.

Speaking at the event, Champion Rolie, the CEO of the foundation, emphasized his commitment to giving back to the underprivileged in society. He shared, “Growing up, I always saw my mom give back to society, so I learned these traits from her, and I decided to also emulate that. So, having reached this stage of my professional career, I decided to reach out to these children on the street.”

Champion Rolie also expressed his goal to discover and nurture talented street kids who are passionate about dancing, providing them with a platform to excel. “I intend to groom about 10 dancers from the dancing competition and look to make them smile again. I want to thank all sponsors for the support they have given me thus far and look forward to reaching out to more kids around the country,” he said.

The successful outreach program was attended by Britain’s Got Talent finalist Danita Akosua Adomaah Yeboah, popularly known as Afronitaa and social media sensation Official Starter. Members of the DWP Academy, including Endurance Grand, Lisa Quam, Real Cesh, and Quables, were also present at the event.

Jude Bellingham hits back hard at criticism after steering England to Slovakia victory

0
  • Bellingham scored an overhead kick in stoppage time to equalise against Slovakia
  • Harry Kane went on to score the winner in extra time to send England to Euro 2024 quarter-final
  • Real Madrid midfielder keen to remind critics of his quality

Jude Bellingham has admitted he channelled the ‘rubbish’ criticism aimed at him this week as he celebrated his dramatic stoppage-time equaliser against Slovakia.

A woeful England performance looked to have steered the Three Lions towards elimination from Euro 2024 before Bellingham popped up with an overhead kick in the final minute of stoppage time to send the game to extra time, where a Harry Kane header won the game for Gareth Southgate’s side.

As Bellingham celebrated his spectacular goal, the Real Madrid midfielder appeared to scream “who else?” – a reminder to his critics that he boasts the quality needed to decide games like this.

“It’s a feeling that is like no other,” said Bellingham.

“In international football and in knockout football it’s an even worse feeling because you’re 30 seconds from going home and having to listen to all the rubbish and feeling like you’ve let a nation of people down.

“In 30 seconds or one kick of the ball, everything can change.”

Asked to elaborate on his meaning of ‘rubbish’, Bellingham continued: “I think you know what I mean by the rubbish.

“Playing for England, it should be one of the proudest things of a footballer’s career, but often it is quite difficult. There’s a really high intense pressure, the fans expect a lot from us, regardless of what happened in recent tournaments years and years ago. People talk a lot. I think you do have to take it personally a little bit.

“We work so hard at this game, we come in and we train every day so hard to try and put on performances for the fans, sometimes it doesn’t go well and sometimes feels like there’s a bit of a pile-on. It’s not nice to hear but you can always use it for moments like that. It’s nice to throw it back to some people, I suppose.”

Bellingham ended by admitting the goal could end up being one of the best moments of his career if England go on to lift the trophy later this summer.

“It’s got to be up there!” he said. “It’s 30, 20 seconds until we’re out of the European Championships, the mood, in comparison to now, that it would have been is a massive difference, and what it can do for the team going forwards, I think it’s hard to deny that it was one of the most important moments of my career so far.

“We’ll see, though. It’s still a long tournament, it’s only really very important if we go on to win the cup. We’ll decide in the next two weeks how important it is.”

Mason Greenwood’s ‘preferred transfer’ away from Man Utd revealed

0

Sounds like quite a good development for the superstar, Mason Greenwood. The big question is, would he take the offer from a team that once rejected him?

  • Man Utd continue to look for permanent Mason Greenwood transfer
  • A number of European clubs have already been linked
  • 22-year-old forward has developed a preferred destination

Marseille are the latest club to have been linked with Mason Greenwood as Manchester United attempt to arrange a permanent transfer for the forward.

Greenwood’s loan at Getafe, where he scored eight goals in 33 La Liga appearances, is at an end and it remains that his next step will be away from Old Trafford.

United had initially hoped to reintegrate Greenwood into their first-team squad after charges of assault, attempted rape and coercive behaviour were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service after the withdrawal of key witnesses. But a furious backlash resulted in a climbdown.

United’s preference has long been known to be a permanent sale, with Juventus, Lazio, Napoli Barcelona and Atletico Madrid all among those linked with the 22-year-old.

The Athletic reports that Marseille are “exploring a deal”, with talks at an early stage and the specifics of finances yet to be discussed. But the French side are described as “keen to recruit” Greenwood, who is claimed to favour Marseille over other potential options at this stage.

Roberto De Zerbi is set to become new Marseille boss after leaving Brighton & Hove Albion. The club competed in the Champions League qualifying rounds and then the Europa League during 2023/24, getting as far as the semi-finals in the latter competition. But a disappointing eighth place finish in Ligue 1 means no European football at Stade Velodrome in the year ahead.

Marseille were heavily reliant on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for goals last season, with the 35-year-old racking up 30 in all competitions. The next highest scorers were centre-back Chancel Mbemba and ex-Sheffield United forward Iliman Ndiaye on six each, so there is need for additional firepower.

The club’s last Ligue 1 title was in 2010, while their most recent trophy was 2012. Yet they retain historic status within French football as nine-time national champions – only Saint-Etienne (10) and Paris Saint-Germain (12) have won more – and they remain the sole French winner of the European Cup.

United are reported to be targeting a £30m transfer fee for Greenwood, although failure to command what is deemed an acceptable price could see the club trigger a 12-month extension in his contract until 2026 and consider a second loan. That scenario could bring Getafe back into the picture.
