FC Ararat-Armenia, a prominent club in the Armenian top-flight league, has finalized the signing of Ghanaian winger Eric Ocansey on a two-year contract.
Ocansey’s transfer comes after his tenure with Belgian First Division team Lierse Kempenzonen concluded at the end of the 2023/24 season.
This move marks Ocansey’s first venture outside of Belgium in nine years, having previously featured for Eupen, KV Kortrijk, Beveren, and Lierse Kempenzonen.
The 26-year-old Ocansey began his career at Qatar’s renowned Aspire Academy. Despite his talent, he has yet to represent Ghana at any level. However, his older brothers have featured for Ghana’s U17 and U20 squads, as well as Burkina Faso’s national team.
Ocansey’s transfer to Ararat-Armenia signifies a new phase in his professional journey, providing him with an opportunity to showcase his abilities and potentially earn recognition on the international stage.
His extensive experience in Belgium’s top league is expected to bolster Ararat-Armenia’s squad significantly.
