Habiba Sinare opens up on struggles of marrying a footballer

Ghanaian actress Habiba Sinare, former wife of Black Stars player Majeed Waris, has spoken out about the challenges she faced during her short-lived marriage.

In an interview with MzGee, Habiba revealed that while many think life with a footballer is glamorous, the reality is often far from it.

She explained how her ex-husband’s football career kept him away for long periods, leaving her feeling neglected.

This lack of intimacy and attention, combined with his close ties to his family, caused strain in their relationship.

Despite these challenges, Habiba remained private about her struggles, choosing not to involve her own family until later.

The couple, who married in 2017, separated after only a year and a few months.
