Kuami Eugene has addressed ongoing accusations that he steals other artists’ songs.
In a recent interview, he firmly denied these claims, explaining that while he draws inspiration from other musicians, it doesn’t mean he’s copying their work.
“I don’t steal music. Every artist takes influences from different places,” Eugene emphasized, pointing out that renowned artists like Michael Jackson and Nigerian musicians have faced similar criticisms.
He explained that taking a line or two and reworking it into one’s unique style is part of the creative process.
The talented artist shared that it can be disheartening when people accuse him of copying, especially considering the effort he puts into making his music original.
He reiterated that music is a dynamic and collaborative art form, with inspiration coming from various sources.
“At the end of the day, we’re all trying to create something beautiful for our audience,” Kuami Eugene concluded.
