Former MP K.T. Hammond has sued journalist Captain Smart for defamation over alleged remarks made during Onua TV’s election coverage, which he claims tarnished his reputation.
He argues that the comments falsely depict him as tribalistic following his defeat to an NDC candidate of Ewe descent.
Hammond is seeking damages, a public retraction, and a court injunction to prevent further dissemination of the alleged defamatory statements.
