Kwame Mickey resolves ‘Defe Defe’ copyright issue with Team Eternity

After weeks of intense public dispute over copyright infringement, music producer Kwame Mickey and the Ghanaian Gospel group, Team Eternity, have reached a peaceful resolution.

USA-based Ghanaian producer Kwame Mickey had previously taken to Facebook to express his frustration, accusing Team Eternity of using one of his songs without authorization. He even threatened to take legal action against the group.

The conflict has now been settled through a License Agreement, as revealed in a statement witnessed by Debrich Jeremiah Acheampong of OFM Computer World.

The statement reads, “The parties have entered into a License Agreement under which Kwame Mickey grants Team Eternity Group the non-exclusive right to use specific words from the Existing Song in their New Song.” Both parties extended their gratitude to everyone who helped mediate the resolution.

The original song in question, “Defe Defe,” was penned by Osuani Afriyie and performed by Hallelujah Voices.

This agreement puts an end to a heated dispute, showcasing that even significant conflicts can be amicably resolved.
