According to multiple reports, two hooded suspects attempted to enter the 19-year-old’s luxury home in Esplugues de Llobregat, near Barcelona, during the early hours of Wednesday morning. However, the break-in was thwarted after Yamal’s private security team spotted the intruders through surveillance cameras and immediately alerted authorities.
The suspects reportedly fled before officers from the Mossos d’Esquadra arrived at the scene. Catalan police have since launched an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage in an effort to identify those responsible.
The incident came only hours after Spain defeated France 2-0 to qualify for the FIFA World Cup final. Yamal played a key role in the victory by winning the penalty that led to Spain’s opening goal, continuing his impressive rise on the international stage.
Authorities have also confirmed that several attempted burglaries were reported in the same upscale residential area overnight, leaving investigators to determine whether Yamal’s property was specifically targeted or part of a wider criminal operation.
Fortunately, no one was injured and nothing was reported stolen as security personnel prevented the suspects from gaining access to the residence.
