Manchester City are on the verge of signing Ghanaian prodigy Ryan McAidoo, as per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
At just 16 years old, McAidoo has opted to leave Chelsea and join the Premier League champions, marking a major coup for City’s academy.
Amid fierce competition from top clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool, Manchester City succeeded in securing McAidoo’s commitment.
The promising forward has chosen the Etihad Stadium, renowned for its outstanding youth development program, to hone his skills.
Chelsea recognized McAidoo’s immense potential and made considerable efforts to keep him. The Blues valued his ability to play in multiple attacking positions and saw him as a key part of their future. Despite their efforts, they couldn’t retain him.
On the international stage, McAidoo has played for England’s U-17 team, participating in the U-17 Euro qualifiers earlier this year. Domestically, he has featured prominently for Chelsea’s U-18 squad during the 2023/24 season, including starts in the U-18 Premier League in March.
