Afrobeats star Mr Eazi has opened up about his journey, describing himself as more than just a musician. At 34, the artist—born Oluwatosin Ajibade—says music accounts for only 20% of his income, as his entrepreneurial ventures remain the foundation of his success.
Born to a pilot who later founded an aviation consulting firm, Mr Eazi grew up in a comfortable environment. After schooling in Nigeria, he moved to Ghana, where he studied Mechanical Engineering at KNUST. At 23, he returned to Nigeria to work with Schlumberger as a mechanical engineer.
Even before achieving global recognition in music, Mr Eazi was already exploring business. From club promotion to e-commerce, his early ventures laid the groundwork for what would later become a multi-country empire. Today, he operates companies in 18 African nations, spanning technology, entertainment, and investment.
Alongside his wife, fashion entrepreneur Temi Otedola, Mr Eazi says he is building businesses that go beyond profit, aiming for long-term impact across the continent.
“I’m more than music—I’m a businessman first,” he emphasized, underscoring his commitment to entrepreneurship as the true driver of his legacy.
