Ghanaian musician, entertainment pundit and artiste manager Christopher Nelson, popularly known as Mr. Logic, has been arraigned at the Dansoman Circuit Court on charges of defrauding a US citizen and his family of $21,000.00 and GH¢48,000.00.
Mr. Logic, who is well-known in the Ghanaian music industry, is accused of promising to secure a resident permit for the victim, Khori Edward Lewis, an American citizen and musician living in Pantang. According to reports from The Chronicle, Mr. Logic allegedly made this offer through Monica Spence, who introduced herself as being under his management.
The alleged incident began when Lewis and his family visited Ghana and were introduced to Mr. Logic. Believing that Mr. Logic could help them obtain resident permits to live and work in Ghana, Lewis paid the requested fees. However, an investigation by the Ghana Immigration Service revealed that the actual cost of a resident permit is $1,000.08 per person, far less than the amount Mr. Logic allegedly charged.
Mr. Logic has pleaded not guilty to the charges and has been granted bail set at GH¢400,000 with three sureties. The case was reported to the police by Lewis on May 11, 2024.
Mr. Logic, known for his affluent lifestyle and social media presence, recently showcased his newly acquired house in an interview with YouTuber Zionfelix. During the interview, he claimed to spend an average of GH¢8,000 daily.
The court proceedings will continue as the case unfolds, with the public keenly watching for further developments.
