Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari recently shared her motivation for transitioning from acting to film production, aiming to break free from being typecast.
Known for her “sweet girl” roles, Nadia felt limited by the scripts she received, typically portraying wealthy daughters or romantic characters.
In an interview, she explained, “I got into movie producing because I felt I wasn’t challenged enough… I just got tired of that.”
Nadia expressed her passion for thrillers and horror, genres she couldn’t explore in her acting career.
With her first production, Imogen Brown, Nadia faced directing challenges, leading her to later entrust directing to her brother.
Now with four films under her belt, she enjoys the creative freedom to portray diverse roles and tell stories on her terms.
