Ghanaian Chef Ebenezer Smith’s moment of celebration for his potential Guinness World Records achievement turned into chaos when men in police uniform disrupted his press conference at La Palm Beach Hotel in Accra on July 2, 2024.
Chef Smith was announcing his approval for the longest cooking marathon attempt, pending confirmation from GWR regarding surpassing Irish chef Alan Fisher’s record.
The press conference abruptly ended as men in uniform, reportedly led by Hiplife artiste Nana Boroo claiming a management dispute, stormed in.
Amidst the confusion, Chef Smith hurriedly left the venue upon learning of the police presence. A journalist from Hitz FM, present at the event, described how the soldiers targeted him, seizing and deleting recorded videos before resorting to physical intimidation.
The incident highlighted tensions allegedly stemming from a managerial contract dispute between Chef Smith and Nana Boroo. Despite the disruption, Chef Smith managed to evade capture, while the journalist faced aggression from the intruding men in uniform.
