Police arrest content creator as investigation continues into allegations surrounding nursing student’s death.

According to police, the arrest followed a petition alleging that Favour travelled to Asaba on June 1, 2026, after Ogbonna allegedly offered to support her financially and train her in content creation.

Before her death, a video circulated widely on social media in which Favour alleged that she was invited to a hotel in Asaba, where she was sexually assaulted despite repeatedly refusing and telling him she was a virgin. She also claimed she had initially trusted him because of his popularity as a content creator. These allegations remain under police investigation.

Police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe said investigators believe Favour returned home visibly distressed, informed her parents about the alleged incident, recorded the now-viral video, and later consumed a toxic substance. She subsequently died despite efforts to save her.

The Delta State Police Command confirmed that Ogbonna has been arrested and is cooperating with investigators. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and that all aspects of the allegations will be thoroughly examined before any legal conclusions are reached.

The case has generated widespread reactions across Nigeria, with many people calling for a transparent investigation and justice for the deceased.
