PASTOR COLLAPSED AND “PASSES ON” DURING CHURCH SERVICE IN KUMASI

According to TV3 GH, tragedy struck a church in Kumasi, Ghana, when Rev. Mark Kwasi, a beloved pastor in his mid-50s, collapsed and died during a Saturday service. The incident unfolded in front of a packed congregation, leaving worshippers in shock and grief. According to eyewitness accounts, Rev. Kwasi was delivering a passionate sermon about faith and perseverance when he appeared to become uneasy.

Grace Mensah, a church member, recalled,

“He paused for a moment and held his chest. He said,

‘Let us pray, but before he could continue, he fell to the ground.”

Panic ensued as congregants rushed to assist their pastor. Some attempted to administer first aid, while others called for medical help. Despite their efforts, Rev.

Kwasi was unresponsive. Kwame Ofori, another member of the congregation, said,

“We tried everything we could, but he was unresponsive.

When the paramedics arrived, they confirmed he had passed away.”

Although the exact cause of his death has not yet been determined, some suspect it may have been a heart attack. The church has announced plans to work with medical authorities to confirm the cause.

Rev. Kwasi had been leading the church for over 20 years and was widely regarded as a father figure and source of inspiration. Many church members have spoken about the profound impact he had on their lives. Madam Akua Serwaa, a longtime congregant, said, “He was more than a pastor to us. He always encouraged us to stay strong in our faith and support one another.”

The sudden loss has left the congregation and the wider community mourning. Elder Samuel Boateng, a leader in the church, described the loss as immeasurable.

“This is a great loss, not just to our church but to the entire community. We ask everyone to keep his wife and children in their thoughts and prayers,” he said.

Church elders have called for unity and support during this challenging time, urging members to honor Rev.

Kwasi’s legacy by upholding the values he stood for.
