Ruben Amorim, the new Manchester United coach, has spoken for the first time after taking on the role.
The former Sporting CP boss replaced Erik ten Hag, who was dismissed on October 28, and is set to lead the Red Devils in their quest to revive their season.
Speaking during his initial days at Old Trafford, Amorim expressed his pride and excitement:
“You watch on TV and know it’s big, but being here, you feel the history.
I’m really proud to be a Manchester United coach. It’s amazing, and I feel like I’m where I’m supposed to be.”
Amorim’s first game in charge will be against Ipswich on November 24. With United sitting 13th in the Premier League, four points from the top four, the 39-year-old Portuguese tactician faces a tough challenge to restore the club’s fortunes.
