According to reports and eyewitness accounts, the blaze broke out on Sunday and affected a premix fuel storage area used by fishermen. Emergency responders from the Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, Ghana Navy and Ghana Air Force were deployed to battle the inferno.

Several Structures Damaged
Preliminary assessments indicate that fuel tanks, fuel drums, vehicles and parts of nearby facilities were damaged. Authorities say swift intervention prevented the flames from spreading to fishing vessels and other critical installations.
Investigations Underway
Initial reports suggest heavy rains and a possible collapse of an electricity pole may have contributed to the incident, although investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause.
Videos shared online captured residents and fishermen watching helplessly as towering flames lit up the harbour area.
