The arrests followed a police operation after reports of gunfire at a private residence. According to police, a search at the scene led to the retrieval of five pump-action guns, a loaded Taurus pistol, additional ammunition and communication equipment.

Weapons Recovered During Police Search
Police said personnel from the National Operations Directorate and the Intelligence Directorate, who were on special duty, responded to a distress call from a residence in Kwabenya. Investigators established that a ceremony was underway at the residence of Mr. Tamakloe Safo Jehoshaphat, also known as Akofena, when Sarah Adwoa Safo reportedly arrived and requested access but was denied entry.

Preliminary investigations indicate that armed security personnel at the residence allegedly discharged firearms during the incident, leaving Adwoa Safo injured. Her vehicle was also found with multiple gunshot marks.
Suspects Transferred To Police Headquarters
The six suspects together with the retrieved weapons and exhibits have been transferred to the Police Headquarters to assist with ongoing investigations. Police say efforts are underway to identify and arrest all other persons connected with the incident.
This latest development comes hours after reports emerged that Adwoa Safo had been hospitalized following the alleged shooting. Earlier, the Kristo Asafo Mission rejected claims that she had been shot by her brother and called for an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Why This Story Matters
The incident has intensified public attention on the ongoing leadership transition within the Kristo Asafo Mission and raised questions about the use of firearms by private security personnel. The outcome of police investigations could have significant legal and security implications.
