The Ghana Women’s Premier League is gearing up to start in October

The Ghana Football Association has unveiled the dates for the 2024/25 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League (WPL).

The new season will kick off on Friday, October 18, 2024, with matches scheduled in both the Northern and Southern zones. The first round will run from October 18-21, 2024, to January 24-27, 2025. The second round will begin on January 31-February 3, 2025, and conclude from April 11-14, 2025.

To facilitate participation in the National Elections on December 7, 2024, the WPL will take a break. There will also be a hiatus for the Christmas and New Year holidays. The league calendar will include dates for the 2024/25 Women’s FA Cup matches.

The grand finale, which will feature the champions from the Northern and Southern Zones, is set for the weekend of May 2-5, 2025. This early conclusion will allow the winner ample time to prepare for the WAFU B Champions League qualifying rounds.

The GFA’s organized schedule aims to ensure a competitive and balanced league season, providing equal opportunities for all participating teams.
