Byno Ayoni, winner of TV3’s Mentor Season 12, has revealed the challenges he’s faced in his music journey, often due to misconceptions about his albinism.
Speaking on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz with DJ Slim, Byno shared how society’s misunderstanding of his condition has cost him several career opportunities.
He explained that during auditions for major music platforms, he performed well but was later rejected based on his appearance. “I’ve attended several auditions and done well, only to be told I’m not marketable because I’m an albino,” Byno recounted.
Despite the setbacks, Byno remains optimistic. He believes that as more people recognize his talent, the stigma around his condition is slowly diminishing.
Now signed to Edem Goget’em’s Volta Regime Music Group, Byno continues to release music, including tracks like “I Dey Like,” showing perseverance and dedication to his craft.
