Uri Geller Challenges Nana Kwaku Bonsam Again: “Your Powers Are Cancelled” Ahead of Ghana-England Clash

Israeli-British illusionist and self-proclaimed psychic Uri Geller has reignited one of football’s most unusual rivalries by publicly challenging Ghanaian spiritualist Nana Kwaku Bonsam, declaring that any alleged spiritual attack against England captain Harry Kane would fail because his own “powers are stronger.”

Uri Geller’s Direct Message

Speaking in a video shared online before England’s clash with Ghana, Geller addressed Nana Kwaku Bonsam directly, saying:

“You’re a witch doctor, and you said you cursed Harry Kane. No, you can’t, because my powers are stronger than yours. You are cancelled. You won’t be able to do anything.”

The remarks revive a bizarre football storyline that first captured global headlines during previous meetings involving Ghana and England.

The Harry Kane ‘Curse’ Story

Nana Kwaku Bonsam has, on several occasions over the years, claimed responsibility for using spiritual powers to influence football matches and players. One of his most famous claims involved Harry Kane, whom he allegedly targeted with a curse before an international fixture.

Uri Geller responded by insisting he had spiritually protected Kane and neutralized any alleged supernatural influence, arguing that England’s captain would remain unaffected.

Football Meets Spiritual Claims

While such statements often generate enormous discussion on social media, there is no scientific evidence supporting claims that spiritual curses influence football matches. FIFA competitions are decided under the Laws of the Game, with outcomes determined by performances on the pitch.

Nevertheless, the exchange has become part of football folklore, especially among Ghanaian supporters, where Nana Kwaku Bonsam has long been associated with dramatic public declarations before major matches.

Fans React Online

The latest comments have once again divided opinion online. Some supporters view the exchange as harmless entertainment designed to build excitement before a high-profile fixture, while others see it as an unnecessary distraction from the football itself.

Regardless of differing opinions, the unusual back-and-forth has once again placed Ghanaian football culture in the international spotlight ahead of another eagerly anticipated encounter with England.
