She Kept Changing Men Out of Fear Until She Met a True Man of God

In a quiet African community lived a young woman named Abena whose beauty attracted many admirers. Yet behind her smile was a wounded heart that few people understood. She had watched her parents’ marriage collapse when she was a child, and ever since then, she believed that every man would eventually break her heart.

Instead of allowing herself to fall deeply in love, Abena moved from one relationship to another. Whenever a man became serious, fear would take over, and she would walk away before she could be hurt.

Fear Became Her Greatest Enemy

Friends criticized her for changing partners so often, while others wrongly believed she simply enjoyed attention. Deep inside, however, Abena was lonely and exhausted. She wanted true love but was terrified of trusting anyone.

Years passed as she dated successful businessmen, talented musicians and respected professionals, yet none of the relationships lasted because her fear always won.

An Unexpected Encounter

One Sunday afternoon, while visiting a relative, Abena entered a small church simply to escape heavy rain. The preacher spoke about healing broken hearts and allowing God to restore what pain had destroyed.

The message touched her deeply. Tears rolled down her face as she realized she had been running from love because she had never healed from her past.

A Different Kind of Man

Months later, Abena met a humble Christian teacher named Kwesi through the church community. He was kind, patient and respectful. Unlike the men she had known before, he never tried to impress her with money or status.

Instead, he encouraged her to pray, forgive and rediscover her self-worth through faith in God.

For the first time in many years, Abena felt safe enough to trust again.

Healing Before Marriage

Their friendship slowly became love, but Kwesi reminded her that lasting relationships are built on honesty, patience and faith rather than fear and insecurity.

Together they prayed, studied Scripture and confronted the wounds that had shaped her life.

Little by little, God healed the broken places in her heart.

A Beautiful New Beginning

Two years later, surrounded by family and friends beneath the shade of ancient trees, Abena and Kwesi exchanged marriage vows.

As she smiled through tears of joy, she realized she had not been searching for different men all those years.

She had been searching for healing.

From that day forward, the couple devoted themselves to mentoring young people about faith, forgiveness and healthy relationships, reminding everyone that God’s timing is always perfect.

Why This Story Matters

Many people carry invisible emotional wounds that affect their relationships. True healing begins when fear is replaced with faith, forgiveness and hope. Sometimes God restores a broken heart before bringing the right person into our lives.

Moral of the story: You cannot build lasting love on fear. When God heals your heart, He prepares you for the blessing you have been praying for.
