The Asutifi North District Manager of Zoomlion, Patrick Tetteh, has urged residents to keep their surroundings clean and dispose of refuse properly to help prevent disease outbreaks and flooding.
Mr. Tetteh made the call during a fumigation, disinfection and disinfestation exercise at Kenyasi aimed at promoting public health and curbing the spread of diseases.
He urged residents to dispose of waste in designated refuse containers rather than dumping it in gutters.
According to him, indiscriminate waste disposal can choke drainage systems and create breeding grounds for mosquitoes, increasing the risk of malaria.
He also warned that blocked gutters could contribute to flooding, particularly during the rainy season.
Zoomlion reinforces sanitation message
The Ahafo Regional Human Resources Officer of Zoomlion, Dennis Addae, said maintaining a clean environment remains an important part of the company’s mandate.
He explained that the ongoing exercise forms part of Zoomlion’s efforts to maintain healthy communities through the fumigation, disinfection and disinfestation of public places.
Mr. Addae encouraged residents to cooperate with the exercise and maintain proper sanitation practices after the intervention.
He stressed that keeping communities clean requires the active participation of residents, local authorities and other stakeholders.
