Rumzia Sule Crowned Miss Ghana 2026 After Inspiring Community-Focused Journey

ACCRA, Ghana – Rumzia Sule, an International Relations student at Cumbria University, has officially been crowned Miss Ghana 2026 after emerging victorious over 12 outstanding finalists during the 69th edition of Ghana’s premier beauty pageant. Held under the theme “Empowering Women, Enduring Legacy”, the grand finale celebrated leadership, service, and personal development over traditional pageantry.

Fatimatu Zara Ishacu, a graduate of the University of Ghana, finished as the first runner-up, while Whitney Opoku Nketia secured the second runner-up position. Anita Dankwa and Nedlyn Appiah were named the third and fourth runners-up respectively.

The competition also celebrated excellence across multiple categories. Nedlyn Appiah won Miss Fitness, Lucille Akua Oputa-Otutu claimed Miss Talent, Davinia Owusu Kuffuor received Miss Eloquent, Lawrencia Serwaa Amankwa earned Most Beautiful Skin, Fatimatu Zara Ishacu was adjudged Miss Congeniality, Anita Appiah won Most Disciplined, and Whitney Opoku Nketia secured the Miss Photogenic title. Rumzia Sule further distinguished herself by winning the prestigious Beauty With A Purpose award.

Unlike previous editions, organisers introduced a refreshed format that focused heavily on mentorship, leadership, entrepreneurship, and community development. Rather than emphasizing glamour alone, the Miss Ghana Foundation and Exclusive Events Ghana invested in preparing contestants with practical life skills that will have lasting impact within their communities.

The coronation took place at the Oak Plaza Hotel in Accra before an invited audience of judges, family members, partners, sponsors, and distinguished guests. According to the organisers, the scaled-down format forms part of preparations for the landmark 70th anniversary of Miss Ghana next year while also aligning with the international pageant’s 75th anniversary celebrations.

“We made a deliberate choice this year. We did not want to be only entertainment focused but more of the personal and corporate development skills. This platform has always been, and will always be, about beauty with a purpose, tangible impact, and an enduring legacy. This crown is not simply an honour; it is a profound responsibility,” the organisers stated.

Following nationwide auditions held on June 27, 2026, contestants completed weeks of intensive leadership and personal development training. The comprehensive programme featured financial literacy and sustainability sessions by Fidelity Bank, identity and leadership coaching from Ivana Annan, personal branding workshops led by Dr Ike Tandoh, dance and flexibility training with Dr Terry Bright Kweku Ofosu, fitness and mental wellness coaching by Philippa Pepera, and etiquette sessions facilitated by Jennifer Agyemang.

The finalists also toured the Despite Automobile Museum in East Legon, where they learned valuable lessons on entrepreneurship and resilience from the business journey of Dr Osei Kwame Despite.

Beyond classroom learning, contestants actively participated in nationwide community service through the Miss Ghana Foundation’s Beauty With A Purpose initiative. They mentored more than 300 pupils at Martey Tsuru Presbyterian JHS in Accra, promoting patriotism, resilience, civic responsibility, and leadership among young students.

The finalists equally joined the National Clean-Up Exercise in support of President John Dramani Mahama’s nationwide sanitation campaign by helping desilt gutters across parts of Accra. Organisers explained that these outreach activities formed a significant component of the judging process, ensuring the eventual winner genuinely demonstrated compassion, leadership, and commitment to national development.

The final results combined contestants’ overall performance throughout the competition, representing 80 percent of the total score, with public voting accounting for the remaining 20 percent. Organisers highlighted Rumzia Sule’s outstanding final presentation outlining her one-year social impact vision as one of the defining moments that secured her victory.

As Miss Ghana 2026, Rumzia Sule will now prepare to represent Ghana on the international stage at the upcoming Miss World competition in Vietnam.
