Former Ghana Black Stars defender John Paintsil has joined the technical team of the Black Satellites as an assistant coach as preparations begin for next year’s Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
The move forms part of the Ghana Football Association’s ongoing technical restructuring, with the aim of strengthening focus and efficiency across Ghana’s various national teams.
Paintsil, who enjoyed a distinguished playing career with the Black Stars, will now bring his experience to Ghana’s U-20 setup as the team prepares for the upcoming continental competition.
The Black Satellites remain one of Ghana’s important youth national teams, and the appointment adds former international experience to the coaching structure ahead of the tournament.
According to the Ghana Football Association, Paintsil’s new role is part of broader efforts to improve the technical organisation of the national teams.
