Afrobeats star King Promise has opened up about his experience losing the prestigious TGMA ‘Artiste of the Year’ award to Reggae/Dancehall musician Stonebwoy.
In a recent interview with YouTuber Kwadwo Sheldon, the “Commando” hitmaker expressed his disappointment, stating that while he understood it was a competition, he believed he deserved the award.
“I was hoping to win. I think it’s normal for anybody who has done amazingly well to think so,” King Promise shared.
The TGMA event took place at the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Centre, on June 1, 2024.
Stonebwoy clinched the title, surpassing formidable contenders such as Black Sherif, Kuami Eugene, Nacee, King Promise, and Sarkodie.
