Ghanaian midfielder Simon Zibo has made a move to Maltese topflight club Sliema Wanderers. The former Liberty Professionals player finalized a two-year contract with the record champions, departing from his previous club Birkirkara FC.
At 26 years old, Zibo is set to commence pre-season training with Sliema Wanderers next week in preparation for the upcoming 2024/25 season. The club announced the acquisition of the former Ghana U23 international through their official social media channels, welcoming him to their squad.
In their statement, Sliema Wanderers emphasized Zibo’s defensive midfield capabilities and highlighted his prior experience in the Maltese Premier League with Birkirkara FC over the past two seasons.
With European football qualifiers on the horizon for Sliema Wanderers next month, including a second-round matchup against either KF Shkendija or FC Noah in the UEFA Europa Conference League, Zibo’s addition aims to strengthen the team’s roster significantly.
