According to reports gathered from the area, the unfortunate incident happened during the funeral rites of Abusua Panyin Akwasi Kwateng. Eyewitnesses claim the chief was handling a pump-action gun as part of traditional funeral activities when the firearm allegedly discharged unexpectedly.

The chief reportedly sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was rushed for medical attention. However, he was later pronounced dead, throwing residents and mourners into deep sorrow.
