Speaking in response to online speculation, Sista Afia made it clear that she did not personally invite Tracey Shay to perform or appear at her concert. According to the singer, the narrative circulating on social media suggesting that she sidelined or deliberately ignored the young artiste is misleading.

Sista Afia explained that concert invitations and stage appearances are often handled by event organizers and management teams, not solely by the headline artiste. She emphasized that any assumption that she intentionally excluded Tracey Shay is unfair and does not reflect the reality of how the event was structured.

The issue gained attention after fans noticed Tracey Shay’s absence at the event and linked it to ongoing comparisons and perceived tension between Sista Afia and Wendy Shay. However, Sista Afia stressed that she harbors no personal issues with Wendy Shay or her protégé.

“I didn’t invite her, and I also didn’t stop anyone from inviting her,” Sista Afia clarified, urging fans to avoid creating unnecessary conflict among female artistes in the industry.

She further called for unity within Ghana’s music scene, noting that constant rivalry narratives only distract from creativity and growth. Sista Afia encouraged supporters to focus on the music rather than fueling divisions online.

The clarification appears to have calmed some reactions, though the conversation continues among fans on social media platforms.

The shocking development has left residents of Apetenyinase and surrounding communities in a state of confusion and deep sorrow. According to initial reports, the Ghana Police Service was alerted after his lifeless body was discovered in his home. Officers subsequently secured the area, carried out preliminary investigations, and conveyed the body to the morgue for preservation and autopsy.

While unconfirmed reports circulating within the community suggest that he may have harmed himself, authorities have not officially established the cause of death. Police say investigations are ongoing, and residents have been urged to remain calm as facts are gathered.

Hon. Dickson Kwabena Osei was widely known in the area for his active involvement in community affairs and local governance. His sudden passing has sparked emotional reactions, including videos circulating on social media showing grieving residents struggling to come to terms with the loss. In one such video, a visibly heartbroken community member is heard questioning why the late Assembly Member would take such a step, describing him as a respected figure who regularly worshipped with them.

The tragedy has once again brought attention to the silent struggles many people endure. Community members and observers note that individuals facing emotional or psychological distress may not always openly express the depth of their challenges, even when surrounded by people.

Residents have called for a thorough and transparent investigation to establish the true circumstances surrounding Hon. Osei’s death, while extending condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

As the community mourns, social commentators and leaders are urging the public to be more attentive to the emotional well-being of those around them and to encourage open, judgment-free conversations. Authorities are expected to release further details once investigations are concluded.

X User Osagyefo Oliver Sparks National Debate with Blunt Criticism of Ghana’s Security System

Social media commentary reignites concerns over justice, inequality, and selective law enforcement in Ghana

A Ghanaian X user identified as Osagyefo Oliver has ignited intense online debate after sharing a blunt and emotionally charged critique of Ghana’s security and law enforcement system. His post, which has since gone viral, reflects a growing public frustration over what many perceive as unequal application of justice in the country.

In his post, Osagyefo Oliver wrote:

“When it comes to poor people dier. Police go show Krakye powers quick quick quick. Even for things that make no sense. But once you steal Ghana money, they salute you.”

The statement, though informal and written in street language, has struck a deep chord with thousands of Ghanaians across social media platforms. Many users describe it as a painful but honest reflection of lived experiences, especially among the poor and vulnerable who often feel over-policed for minor offenses.

Supporters of the post argue that Ghana’s security agencies tend to respond swiftly and aggressively when ordinary citizens are involved in petty crimes or disputes. In contrast, they claim that cases involving alleged corruption, misappropriation of state funds, and politically exposed individuals often drag on for years with little or no visible accountability.

Several commenters shared personal stories of being harassed, arrested, or intimidated by law enforcement over trivial matters, while high-profile corruption cases remain unresolved. Others pointed to repeated reports by civil society groups highlighting selective justice, political interference, and weak enforcement against white-collar crime.

However, not everyone agrees with Osagyefo Oliver’s position. Some users cautioned against painting all security personnel with the same brush, noting that many officers work under difficult conditions and limited resources. They argued that systemic failures, political pressure, and institutional weaknesses should be blamed rather than individual officers.

Security analysts say the viral post underscores a long-standing trust deficit between citizens and state institutions. According to them, public confidence in law enforcement can only be rebuilt through transparency, consistent application of the law, and visible consequences for corruption at all levels.

As the debate continues, Osagyefo Oliver’s post has become more than just a tweet. It has evolved into a symbol of public anger, frustration, and a renewed call for fairness and accountability within Ghana’s justice and security systems.

Reports Emerge Over Ken Ofori-Atta’s Alleged Detention as Extradition Debate Resurfaces

Questions raised over former finance minister’s whereabouts and accountability process

Unverified reports circulating on social media and political commentary platforms have reignited public debate over the whereabouts and legal status of Ken Ofori-Atta, Ghana’s former Finance Minister, following the New Patriotic Party’s loss in the 2024 general elections.

Ofori-Atta, who previously served under former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, was in June 2025 declared wanted for questioning by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), led by Kissi Agyabeng, after failing to honour invitations related to ongoing corruption and procurement investigations.

At the time, the OSP stated that Mr Ofori-Atta had left Ghana and was considered a fugitive from justice, prompting discussions about possible international law enforcement cooperation. Some reports later claimed that an Interpol Red Notice process had been initiated, although official confirmation from Interpol or U.S. authorities has not been publicly released.

Fresh claims now suggest that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) may have detained the former minister in the United States. However, as of now, no formal statement has been issued by ICE, the U.S. Department of Justice, or Ghanaian authorities to confirm such an arrest.

Legal analysts note that even if a detention were to occur, extradition is not automatic. U.S. courts would first need to assess whether Ghana’s request meets the legal thresholds under existing extradition treaties, including the presentation of sufficient evidence and due process guarantees.

If extradited, Mr Ofori-Atta would be expected to face proceedings before a High Court in Ghana, as part of efforts by state authorities to pursue accountability and recover any public funds proven to have been misappropriated.

The OSP has repeatedly maintained that its actions are guided by law and evidence, urging the public to separate verified facts from speculation as investigations continue.

Court directs musician to continue monthly payments until property is vacated

An Adentan Fafraha District Court has ordered award-winning Ghanaian musician Black Sherif to pay GH¢229,500 in rent arrears after a landlord accused him of defaulting on rent payments since August 2024.

According to court documents, the landlord dragged the popular artiste to court after several attempts to recover the unpaid rent proved unsuccessful. The accumulated arrears reportedly covered several months of unpaid occupation of the property.

After hearing the case, the court ruled in favour of the landlord and instructed Black Sherif to immediately settle the outstanding GH¢229,500. In addition, the court directed the musician to continue paying a monthly rent of $1,700 until he officially vacates the property.

The ruling means Black Sherif remains legally bound to meet his rental obligations despite the ongoing dispute, until the premises are fully handed over to the landlord.

The case has sparked discussions on social media, with many fans expressing surprise over the development, while others called for calm, noting that legal disputes over rent are civil matters that can affect anyone regardless of status.

Black Sherif is yet to publicly comment on the court’s decision.

Donnie McClurkin Hit With Lawsuit Over Alleged Sexual Abuse of Former Congregant

Lawsuit Alleges Years of Abuse and Cites Apologetic Email as Evidence

A new civil lawsuit has been filed against renowned American gospel singer and pastor Donnie McClurkin, alleging that he sexually abused a young male congregant over a period spanning nearly a decade.

The complaint, filed on Friday, January 2, was brought by a man identified as Giuseppe Corletto, who claims McClurkin sexually assaulted and raped him repeatedly between 2007 and 2015. The lawsuit includes claims of sexual assault and sexual battery.

According to court documents, Corletto alleges the first incident occurred in 2007 at a hotel in California, where McClurkin allegedly forced him into oral and anal sex. The lawsuit further claims similar incidents occurred over the next two years during trips to Atlantic City, New Jersey, Manhattan, and at McClurkin’s residence on Long Island.

A key piece of evidence cited in the complaint is an image of what appears to be a 2013 email allegedly sent by McClurkin to Corletto. In the email, McClurkin appears to acknowledge inappropriate behavior and expresses remorse.

“I am the actual epitome of a desperate dirty ‘old man’… groping a young man who is just looking for a friendship and close plutonic [sic] relationship with someone he looks to for help, guidance and spirituality,” the email reportedly reads.

“You don’t have that desire for me and I shouldn’t have it for you. I forced myself on you.”

As of the time of filing, Donnie McClurkin has not publicly responded to the lawsuit. The allegations remain unproven, and the case will be determined through the legal process.

McClurkin, a multiple Grammy Award–winning gospel artist, is widely known for chart-topping songs and his influence within Christian communities worldwide, including Ghana. The lawsuit has sparked intense debate online, particularly around issues of spiritual authority, accountability, and abuse within religious spaces.

The case is ongoing.
