Ghana Leader Joins Global Economic Summit to Advance Accra Reset Agenda and Strengthen Partnerships
President John Dramani Mahama has travelled from Accra to Europe to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, following strategic engagements in the United Kingdom as part of Ghana’s broader Accra Reset Initiative for economic transformation.

According to an official statement from the Presidency’s communications office, the President departed Ghana on Sunday, 11 January 2026 for the UK, where he held high-level discussions with coordinators of the Accra Reset Initiative — a flagship policy framework championed by his administration to enhance economic governance, investment, and national development.
After meetings in the UK aimed at deepening collaboration with international partners and attracting technical support for the reset agenda, President Mahama proceeded to Davos, Switzerland, to take part in the World Economic Forum. The annual summit brings together global political leaders, business executives, policy experts, and development partners to address major economic and social challenges.
At Davos, the President is expected to contribute to discussions on global economic recovery, development financing, climate resilience, and the role of emerging economies like Ghana in the shifting global economic landscape. Government officials also noted that he will hold bilateral talks with other world leaders and business figures on the sidelines of the forum to attract investment and expand economic cooperation.
The Ghanaian delegation’s participation at WEF comes as the country consolidates recent macroeconomic gains and seeks to reassert its presence on the global stage, reinforcing Ghana’s commitment to sustainable growth and broad-based prosperity.
