23-Year-Old Ghanaian Declared Missing in the US Found Dead

A 23-year-old Ghanaian woman identified as Akua Akomea has reportedly been found dead in Manassas Park, Virginia, after she was earlier declared missing by authorities in the United States.

According to reports, the Prince William County Police Department initially appealed to the public for assistance in locating the young Ghanaian after she was reported missing on May 7, 2026.

Police disclosed that Akua Akomea had allegedly made concerning statements prior to her disappearance, raising fears about her safety and wellbeing. Authorities said she was believed to be driving a black 2022 Honda Civic with Virginia license plate UBG-3720.

Hours later, police sadly confirmed that Akua had been found dead in Manassas Park. The investigation into her death has reportedly been handed over to the Manassas Park Police Department.

Police Earlier Issued Missing Person Alert

The Prince William County Police Department described Akua as a Black female, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing approximately 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
